although I did see a narrow boat on the river today that actually had proper fenders!

Obviously one of those wealthy narrow boaters then, one set of fenders for the river, and one set for the cut!

Cunningly disguising itself as a cruiser by hiding behind big fenders won't fool us. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Lol just could not help myself

Mine are on a rope, stringy thing and on Saturday I decided to see how they looked pulled up, horrible was the result :-)

Anyway, more importantly Tristans' new covers have been delivered and fitted by Jeckells of Norfolk, reasonable price compared to others, some design improvements and decent people to deal with. Their initial 5/6 weeks to manufacture, second fit and final fit was a tad optimistic but even so within my gut feel estimate of 10 weeks, so pleased with the result.

The old girl deserved her new outfit....so did the boat lol

This is a good thing.

The river is a place to enjoy, if you want to get somewhere in a hurry, a train or a car would be a better bet. Or even a bicycle.

The flat-out brigade seem to be out in force this year, I suspect it's just the general descent into chavvery that our society seems hell bent on achieving...

We generally go slowly, and get overtaken by all manner of creatures...

On occasion, we need to get somewhere for a reason, and we use the full 5mph allowance. Only at this speed does the boats drinking exceed that of the crew
