Onan Cummins genny issues

We've just had our Onan MDKBL generator rebuilt by a Cummins main agent due to salt ingress. It now runs fine. The issue is, it wont turn off. Have ordered a new solenoid, but not 100% convinced this is the issue.

Has anyone had similar issues or have any ideas what the problem could be?

Was the fuel injection pump rebuilt when the engine was rebuilt? The actuator should be spring loaded to the stop position, but if the injection pump is slightly seized it will not switch off or will not control the speed correctly.
