I am sure that this has been asked before, but my search on the forum produced only three replies, one of which was from someone who was having problems with his electric garage door.:ROFLMAO:

I have used Barry Edwards in the past but cannot find him now.

I need to order some 12mm braid on braid to replace a damaged halyard.

Any suggestions?

Chumley Prime Rigging, trade as either ‘boat ropes’ or ‘yacht ropes’, better pricing than Jimmy Green who are excellent but seem to be upping prices.
 
Another huge vote for Jimmy Green. Their service is outstanding, and if you can visit there is fantastic crab sandwiches at the Dolphin Hotel in Beer.
 
Rotamarine - I’ve had various from them and it’s good. They’ll build to order aka jimmy green and at a lower cost. Quick service and arrival.
 
I think that as the Internet and online shopping takes over - we see an increase in both good and bad sales.

The likes of Jimmy Green - I can remember growing up from local into a Mail Order business - making a transition to internet. It remains to be seen how long each survives as loyalty along with referrals plays a part - but that only lasts so long.

I normally would have - if still able to travel to UK when I needed cordage - would have bought in UK ... but this time I had to seek online and shipping along with pricing was important. Jimmy Green although cordage pricing was reasonable, definitely not cheapest, was out of the running in terms of shipping.
I changed my purchase ideas - I wanted different 'fleck' colours for each job .. as I saw that pricing with shipping would be prohibitive. In the end Ropeservices as I linked to supplied a 100m reel of 10mm good quality Braid on Braid for just under 100 quid incl. shipping to Latvia. It meant all ropes are black fleck on white ... but I can live with that !!
 
Living abroad, one of the problems we have is that UK suppliers generally have high delivery charges to Continental Europe; on a small order this can be more than the item cost!
However I am looking at a £200 approx. purchase, so delivery cost will be acceptable, I hope.

I know you want a different 'fleck' colour ... but just in answer to your post here ...

I look at the recc'd suppliers in posts here and not one has dropped below 155 quid for 100m delivery incl. to such as where I am - Latvia. Most are well over 200 quid ...

But the seller I used for my black fleck rope 100m incl delivery by courier to my door in Latvia from UK was 100 quid all in.

I decided I could live without various colours for that saving ..... savings that allowed me to buy various other items and STILL have money in pocket.
