Massive engine hours but most probably at low speeds if it has been on the river for much of its life. The Crown was my dream boat during our early boating days

Two or three Princess 330 have now hove into view, two of them have a very unfortunate choice of power plant, however one has a pair of the VP 200HP stone age engines vital to assuage OGs prejudices against any engine with any more belts or electronics than the average egg whisk.

I have a p 330 with AD41P 200 hp engines cruise 18 tops out at 24 just been from Ipswich to chattam cruising at 18 averaged 10gph for trip. We chose the 330 because of having the two cabins as only the very early 35 had the side cabin most are the dinet version. Just watch the gearboxes as most 330 had the Volvo boxes which is just top half of leg we chose ours as it had the hurth boxes fitted in 98 think it's a great boat we are in Ipswich pm if you would like a look

Thanks for info.
Have been warned about the "not quite man enough" mechanical gearboxes fitted as standard to the Volvo 41.
Apparently lots of failures.
It was also mentioned about the Hurth hydraulic gearboxes that were fitted to some boats being much superior.
Hopefully will be annoying a broker or two this weekend.

Have just been chatting to a chap with a 1991 boat who has an original MS3 still going strong driving on one engine and MS4 on the other.
Strongly suspect by now its purely down to condition and take a chance.

You will not beat a P35 for sea keeping, it will go through most anything, with out you having any sort of fear. I got the hydraulic gear boxes in mine because the others failed and Volvo said that they were no good. Unless on a river, you need the 200HP engines, or the 250 Cummins. 165's will leave it on the hump, so it will not properly plane.
It is seriously spacious and very manuverable, you will not need a bow thrutcher less you insist on backing in to a difficult space.

Went to look at a (not for sale) P35 over weekend in Chatham MDL.Confirms ideal boat and right price bracket for us .

There is a p35 on ebay at mo with the preferred 2 cabin layout,in Plymouth,bit closer than Portugal!

Did spot that and the 50hp one on the Thames.
However have close look at photos esp flybridge on the ebay boat.Scruffy and dirty to say the least.Corners on both instrument panels have broken off,somebody did not care much about that boat at some point.
If that is on visible stuff,what about the stuff you cannot see.

Presume this is £8K and not €8K ... and would have thought you'd get cheaper than that .... I'd contact someone and ask for a "return load" ... need to be a bit more flexible about dates, but also cheaper .... and if you drop her into the wet stuff in France, you'll save approx £1K I'd guess... BTW love the Cummins in that boat !!

Quick update.
Despite promising my self faithfully that I would not go looking at any boats until mine was 99% sold....
Kept perusing the web-ads and finally gave in, after all,the stuff on sale was described as "Good Condition" by the brokers.
After driving 200 odd miles to Lincoln the kindest description of the boat in question P35 was " tired".The engine compartment was scruffy to say the least and the interior which had had some obvious new seating merely showed how faded everything else was. Burnt wood round the tatty cooker and doors which did not shut properly did not help.
All the antique nav gear (no radar ! or plotter) was ancient and featured one of those whirly depth sounders.
So a 100 miles to Brundall, mainly following behind somebody in a Morris 1000 and/or a caravan.

Yes we know its got the awful noisy KAD42s but it had to be worth a look at the price.
Imagine a mix of stale tobacco smoke and whatever they used to steam clean the upholstery,add an interior that suggested it had been on charter or hire for every single day of its life...you get the picture.
So no change really.The further you drive the worse they are
Ooo and that pub outside Brooms yard !..for gawds sake get the decorators in.

Shame you didn't talk to me about the 35, let's face it no one is going to say its a real dog mate , please don't bother travelling up here to see it.
The brava belonged to a friend of mine about 4 years ago, not a loved example at all.
Pull the stops out and find a really nice 36 sedan Fairline, way ahead over the Princess 35 and proper slow revving motors that rarely break in the way the higher revving Tamd 41 do.

I had a 36 Sedan a solid boat.
A chap I know had a P35 and sold it and got a Sedan 36 he said there was no comparison in space and seakeeping etc.
