Hello all. I'm a newbee here. I've been looking for a forum to discuss an older Torqeedo outboard. I have a 2005 Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 that I use to power a 2001 20 ft Hurricane FunDeck 201. I live on a lake where gas motors are not allowed so electric is the only real option. I found the Torqeedo used locally and it runs great. It's not fast, as you would expect, and I estimate I get between 3 and 4 MPH. The boat was originally designed to have a 200 HP outboard that was not on the boat when I bought it so I've had to add about 600 lbs of weight in the rear to make the boat ride right and allow the bilge pump to work when it rains. All good so far. My question is regarding the remote control for the Torqeedo. It is the original and works fine for controlling the motor but there is a remote digital display that shows the battery voltage for the 24 volt system. It worked last year but this year it isn't working. I've cleaned all the electrical terminals and cable connections but still no luck. Torqeedo no longer stocks parts for this motor because of it's age. I've been looking for a source for parts without any luck. Does anyone know where I might be able to find parts for this motor? ebay, amazon, Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace haven't had any positive results. I don't know of another source to try. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

If all you want to achieve is to measure the battery voltage, there are lots of cheap voltmeters available which you could wire directly to the battery bank.

Have you had or are you able to get the display out?

It would be worth checking for water damage/loose connections etc. It would also be worth checking for breaks in the wires.
The digital display is old and obviously has been exposed to weather. But, it looks to be well sealed and it was working last year. The cable into the unit is enclosed in a waterproof collar where it goes into the display and there's no way to get to the wires inside the display piece itself. I've already replaced the RJ12 connector where it plugs into the remote control. I think the display is the problem and would like to find another one or some kind of display that will work with the interface cable connection on the remote control.
