Old-model Fairline Targa 48 on ebay

When I owned a 1998 Targa 48 in the Med a few years ago, I had difficulty selling it there too. After a few months, I stuck it on a truck and brought it back to the UK where it sold very quickly and for a lot more money than the owner of this one is asking. She seems like a very nice boat with low hours and with the right hull colour too. Seems like a good opportunity for somebody to buy a nice Med boat for not a lot of money or even for a UK buyer to bring her back to the UK and hope to make a few bob on resale providing of course, the boat checks out to be kosher. There are a lot of dodgy people in that part of Spain;)

Why, has it got some history?

I would be asking many searching questions.......

(major strip and service on port engine) (oil analysis showed some iron turned out to be broken ring so new liners and rings to all cylinders)

CAT 3126 is parent bore engine i.e. no liners.

What caused piston ring failure on low hour engines?
Who performed the work?
Why was engine over repaired?

From memory this guy lives on a Farm near Cambridge, about 6 years ago he had for sale a Princess 40 with a pair of Volvo 63p, it sounded like a reasonable price so I went for a look, it was a complete shed, nothing like his description, his F1 connection was he claimed to deal in parts for cars with a very tenuous connection with the industry. beware!

Was that the princess 420 at shamrock quay Peter? If so I looked at it as well. The port engine sounded really rough as it had worn timing gears. If it is this one its the one that's for sale out in Lanzarote up with many brokers.
