Looking at all this from afar, don't you think that its being taken too seriously. I regard it as light entertainment. Not the be all and end all. Obviously Kim's got to take it all seriously. It pays for the mansion in Berks and the helio to the office every morn.
Your bringing stress from your everyday lives and putting it on here. Is this not just another arm of your hobby. You remember the one. The one where your 'sposed to relax and get away from it all! Or is it just an extension of the Yacht Club Hirarchey(sp!)

Some of the members displaying stress in here should have a new title like 'resident', - looking at the time they spend logged in posting notes!

---- insert smiley here ----- no offence intended.

Having said that I notice I have been glued to this forum lately, and I'm supposed to be working!

Re: ah but

i agree, a bit, except in pointing this out, i wonder if you aren't praps taking other people's seriousness rather too seriously? Whereas, in fact, it may be that they are only pretending to be serious, for a laugh.

Also, in making your post, I think you seem to have also joined a growing clique of people (which seems to also include that troublemaking Dave snelson too) who really feel that there ought to no cliques, and post plenty of threads that advise against starting any clique, or behaving cliqueyly (spelling?).

By the way, my own clique strongly believes that other people ought to stop making posts which ask everyone else to stop forming cliques or behaving in a cliquey fashion. It's very exclusive though, and not to be confused with hlb's clique of people who make posts a day or more too late.

Re: ah but

Well I dont know who's being serious or not. I'm seriously interested in this being a happy informative and fun place to be. Not drowned out by any faction.

Course if three or four cliquity mats on the thames are getting it together. I leave that thread for them to get on with it.
Same way with the Cliquity mates in pool or elsewhere.

Or does cliquity mean agree with??

I know I should not rise to the bait but;

Please read my previous post again, you obviously missed the point by using the word 'serious' three times. Pay particular attention to "----insert smiley-----" and the ":)" smiley face at the end, and "no offence intended".

I admit to having to read your post at least 3 times to understand it, must be my age?

I note in your Personal Description you like to "Pontificate" in forums. Perhaps you are only doing just that, or 'baiting', but is it really doing any good for this forum?

As for your assumption that I have joined a "a growing clique of people (which seems to also include that troublemaking Dave snelson too)" , I do not know the chap and I have no wish to join any clique.

BTW. What current cliques are there?

Oh yes, and no offence intended.

unfortunately i am not a member of the clique that keep track of all the other cliques, so i have no idea. This afternoon, however, I have started half a dozen self-propagating cliques, so that by the morning I will probably belong to over three hundred cliques. I won't be able to name them all, so praps you could help us out and produce a catalog of all the cliques available so we all know what's what?

Whats a clique? Can one develope one over time, purchase one, can I have one, should I want one, do I need one, is it a requirement of forum membership or do I already have one, which I haven't noticed? Answers on a postcard, please.

I can sell you one of my cliques for five quid, but you will need a spare one as well and none of my others will discuss a change of owner, so you'll have to make your own. Note: decent cliques are NOT made of blimmin wood, and not varnished either, so don't start on about getting a classic vintage clique cos the best cliques are brand spanking new ones.

Done! I'll take the fiver one and promise not to varnish it, where do I send the dosh? By the way, is the selling of cliques legal, don't want to get in trouble with plod! Just had to pay a fine to stop an arrest warrant! Didn't know I'd been fined, but that didn't stop the feds!

okay, you can sendme the loot later. The clique is called Hemp, and is very sniffy and backstabby about anyone with ghastly cheap-looking nylon warps and sheets. Anyone else want a clique for a fiver?

I must say it is a whole load easier selling cliques than all the faffing about hlb has to do with flags and chemicals. But there again, it's just a reflection of the fact that the invisibles and service sectors are on the up, whilst the poor old manufacturing industries are crashing and burning.

Caveat Emptor

I think you ought to be careful about buying a clique like this, sight unseen. Have you inspected the paperwork? Does it include the original VAT invoice? Is it CE/RCD compliant? And for how many passengers? Is it Part 1 Registered, or just SCR?

You don't want to end up with a massive fine when the Carabinieri storm Englander and demand to see your documents. And it will be useless, not to say downright dangerous, to say that your friend Signor tcm sold it to you and he will be able to explain everything.

I'd stop and think before committing myself, if I were you.

I wouldn't buy it from him if I were you. He's got the manopoly on Dodgy salesmens cliques. In his own words
<blockquote><font size=1>In reply to:</font><hr>

well, i'm not in any cliques at all. Everyone is very distrusting of me, and quite right too.

<hr></blockquote>

No one really trusts him. So be very wary of secondhand cliques. Specially ones from someone that has made so much from them.
