I'm looking for an old copy of Admiralty SC5607 Thames Estuary Essex and Suffolk Coasts to practice passage planning for the day skipper course. Anyone have a set of these that they are no longer using?

I have a set that I am happy to pass on. Pick up in Greenwich 8th or 9th April if thats not too late.

Hi STOL71 -- any chance to send them by post any sooner (I will obviously pay the postage)? I'm based up in Peterborough. I've got the day skipper practical final bit on Apr 8/9 so am hoping to practice some of the routes we might do next week rather than using just training charts.

Hello Stephan & Beth, I wont get to the boat any sooner than that to fetch the charts. Practising on a chart that's out of date is probably not such a good idea as the buoyage changes constantly on the East Coast. Good luck with the exam. Stefan

Hi Stephan and Beth, I've got an old Imray C1 which covers roughly the same area. If you want it pm me your address. Any practice is better than nothing even on out of date charts. The bouyage may have changed but the shape of the coastline will be the same and the direction and strength of the tides can be used from an up to date almanach if needed.

Update: I am happy to say that I now have a set of maps to practice on.

I'll redo everything on a new chart with a new almanac during the actual course. I'm not trying to memorize buoyage, just plot fake imaginary journeys while fooling myself into thinking it's actually 2014 or thereabouts.
