Hi all if you have the old £50 notes with a Mr HOUBLON on them they have to be used by end of APRIL this year!! This from the Bank of England. After this date they will be worthless in shops etc.

Interesting to see what would happen if they were to withdraw the 500 euro note!
Apparently there are more than 500 million 500 euro notes in "circulation"...that's an awful lot of money under the bed?

A few hundred counterfeit ones have been detected at the Basel (German-Swiss) border by a spot check. They have been, of course, the banknote of choice for drug money laundering since their introduction as their value exceeds the previous preference, the $100 (USD).

The Sfr 1000 (CHF) has always been a contender as the highest value banknote generally in circulation but without sufficient volume to accommodate the vast sums involved.
