On the panel their is the Boost, Oil pressure and ameter gauges, daft question but what is the GB? It seems to read the same as the boost!

Thanks in advance Ian

would the gear box have a pressure guage on?

GB could be gauge boost ie Gauge pressure = 1 bar below atmospheric, could show a negative pressure ...

i have no idea just throwing something in :)

I only went for gear-box as it is one of the parameters that are recorded on the data sheet post engine test on the engines I work on. It also fits the initials nicely.

left hooker.........

Yup, I'd agree. Gearbox oil pressure
Didn't realise she was a left hooker :-)

down below, right hand drive up top!

ta for that gear box pressure makes sense, I'll trace some wires and pipes to make sure and dislocate various parts of me spine/arms/legs and skin knuckles in the process.

I suppose that has to see with the helm location on port side.
That's what is a bit weird, really.
For the throttle levers, there's something to be said for left hand position, though most of it applies to much faster boats.

Oh I see left hooker!

Left hooker, you mean the throttles, I thought you meant the wheel, Doh..

Same up top!

Anyway the Nelson on the next berth has the same arrangement so I guess Guernsey boat builders had their reasons?

By left hooker I did mean the wheel Ian, not the sticks. There's no right/wrong here, and many builders make left hookers incl say Azimut and Ferretti. The logic for right hookers is the helmsman has a better view of boats he has to give way to. On tiny fast speedboats it balances the boat better against prop torque, but that is a non issue on your Haden. Of course, there are perfectly good arguments for centre hookers as well

As for throttles, you find all combinations so again there is no right/wrong. Most builders fit them for the right hand, but it's no big deal
