Its probably always been there but when i start my engines the is a constant oily film on the surface of the water ( TAM 63`ps) coming from the exhausts.Only really just noticed it and wasnt worried about until someone said that i needed my injectors servicing. Is this true?

Two possible causes,
By far the most likely is unburnt diesel coming out of the exhaust, and an injector service should cure that.
The other is worn piston rings causing lubricant to mix with the exhaust and or slightly ovoid bores, which can be cured by honing.
Had both of these problems on my Perkins.

Yes, I notice the same thing with my boat and I've always put it down to unburnt fuel at idle due to inefficient fuelling so no problem
