Oilies-Made to Measure

The big snag

Is the personal expansion factor.
Ken should be able to work out a formula for you that would run along the lines of
LIONWILAP(LifeExpectancy of New Waterproofs if Looked After Properly)
PSC (Personal Shape Change - back tracked 5 years if LIONWILAP is expected to be 5 years)
BIGFAT (Built In Growth Factor Added to Total)
Therefore LIONWILAP+SC+BIGFAT= ITM (Instructions to Manufacturer)

Hope this helps

Danfellows in Plymouth

... made me a suit from measurements taken at SBS two years ago. At same cost as 'off the peg'. Partly to my own specs as well.

But I've not seen them around lately, maybe they've gone belly-up.

I digress

You may be right on the PEF, but I have another theory.

Nowadays most reputable oilies are made from breathable fabric. Like you and I (well, you anyway) as they age, they run short of breath. This shrinks the fabric, as less breath needs to pass through. Hence, oilies that fitted like a glove when new will, after five years of hard work, fit like a sausage skin - post frying pan.

Re: The big snag

What do you mean BIGFAT, you've been looking again. I have now reached the kind of healthy proportions that mean it is not relly possible to get any larger. I am now safe to buy Oilies off the peg with a reasonable expectation that they will fit for more than half an hour.

Re: The big snag

Ah, I have detected the fundamental flaw in your tackticks. My advice would be to do as I have & go straight for the 18-20 Stone Body size. After that its all downhill & its much easier to disguise any loss in your body mass with a few strategically placed staples in your clothes or extra sandwiches etc. in your stomach . The latter is much more satisfying.

Hope that helps!

Re: The big snag

Hmm - I used to know someone who used to buy oversized clothes then say 'These used to fit me you know'
