Oil fed stern gland

The 'beauty' of lip seals is that they almost never 'let go' totally. As the tip of the lip wears it will slowly begin to weep fluid, giving plenty of warning of failure. Even when in a very worn state the amount of water getting into the boat should be manageable for a long time.[/QUO
They have let go well at least the rear 2 which resulted in the oil reservoir over flowing into a locker covering everything, the front held so wasn't a problem but I'm on the last part of serviceable shaft for the seals, I'd rather have a stuffing box I can repack at sea.
I'm not a fan

I also have a Malo and must have a look at the stern gland this winter. No drop in the oil reservoir and only very minor sign of leakage. Anyone know which seal is fitted to Malo yachts? Or even better, the seal types and sizes.
