Oil drain hose stuck in the sump via the dipstick hose

I use a Pela oil drain pump on my Volvo TAMD41P but the tube I put in the dipstick pipe doesn't reach the bottom of the sump, so I don't get all the oil out. Is Volvo Paul saying there is a better way?

I have the same engine as yours. The dipstick tube goes to the bottom of the sump so i fit a 1/2 inch bore hose to the outside of the top of the dipstick tube using a worm-drive hose clip and then use a cordless drill with a pump like this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Sealey-Water-Pump-Drill-Powered-TP51/1011062691?iid=132296768148 only takes a minute.

I had similar worries about inserting a Pela Tube down the dipstick so glued on some longer bore hose to the Pela Tube which was just marginally smaller than the dip stick tube. Fix the welded Pela tube over the dip stick and the tight fit allows a vacum when you to pump and draw the Oil up the dipstick and into the Pela. I dont have worries about getting a tube stuck down the dipstick hole.
