Weather's been astounding here in lockdown. If you can't make it to Oban, here are some Oban lockdown sunsets (almost all shot from my balcony): Lockdown Sunsets Oban
Ha - I bought Bob Orrell's book a few years ago and wondered if there was a connection with yourself! All is now revealed. Beautiful photos - I just had a gander at tonight's scene which is just like a millpond. Don't know when we will be able to get there but a pound to a pinch of snuff it won't be a lovely as it is this evening! That is one hell of lens you must have!

Love it, that looks great! You wouldn't get views like that in Leeds you know ;)

Anyway, you only get view like that in Oban when it isn't raining - which is what, two days per year? Three?

Ate breakfast outside in shorts (again) this morning. It was 29 degrees C in the garden..

I really hope this weather returns for when restrictions are eased as it has been perfect sailing weather here for weeks on end.

But.... mid July is the ‘Glasgow Fair’ holidays and the weather is ALWAYS shyte then.

You won't know it, but I've got some 'previous' in respect of West Coast clegs, etc.

The worst, the very worst, encounter was on coming ashore at Loch Scavaig from a catamaran dinghy and looking to put up a tent on the boggy, grassy area between the hut and the burn. There was no wind.
We had to keep our wetsuits on, neoprene gloves, and wear TWO woolly balaclavas, one back to front.....

You try enjoying 6 hours sailing in a neoprene wetsuit, getting ashore to be enveloped in a cloud of clegs and midges..... not daring to bare yer bum for a needed slash..... then having to swim back to the entrance-rocks where there was a wee bitty breeze. o_O

I remember a framed message somewhere, which said, "Doing a good turn around here is like having a pee in your wetsuit. It gives you that good all over warm feeling, and nobody knows you've done it."
