However all the rest of the club consists of normal types who have either
A, Never ever felt the need to go nowhere v.slowly at 45 degrees and do not think that merely getting to the bouy at the end of the reach deserves a round of drinks in the bar.

Managed to get down to my boat for an hour this morning and delighted to see how well she has weathered the conditions. Bit mucky but no ware in the bilges and engines started first time after almost 3 months since I shut down for the winter.
Water level in the marina still several feet above normal. Marina staff tell me level reached some 12 feet above normal at the peak of the flooding and they could only access pontoons and check boats with a boat themselves. Sounds like they have done an excellent job under very trying circumstances.

Nice to hear some reassuring news. Will be awaiting my invite when the weather warms up a bit(ie. A lot).
Sarah T is now at far extremity of outer pontoon.Any further west and we will be at Allington.
SWMBO walked (trudged grumbling) the entire distance from boat-to bar, in order to time exactly how long it takes.
This is to ensure she can leave in good time to be present all ready and correctly composed when the galley opens

The whirlpools always get me further down near the bridge:encouragement:
