:D on F36 subject to to the usual conditions , can anyone recomend a good surveyor / volvo engine man in the torquay area . Photos to follow:D:D

I used Nick Vass to survey a Searay 270(in Torquay) about 2 years ago and almost certainly would have used him last year to survey the F33 we bought but for various reasons we used a local Plymouth surveyor.
His details are:

Southampton and Torquay, TQ1 1HX
work 08714 333 000
work cell07702 915524

I know he has a particular interest in the FXX range of boats and even if you don't employ him to carry out the survey he will almost certainly offer some unsolicited advice.
No connection I hasten to add.

Oh..... and very well done on the new boat.

Surveyor

Also new Forest based but in Dartmouth 26th for a few days so would be happy to do a survey for you, if the dates are any use, recommend a sea trial as well if possible.

Seconded recommendations for Nick Vass and also Nick Trainer of Meridian Yachts.

Both are excellent, both will find small and material faults and help you understand the implications of any of them.

Both are actually good friends of mine through work, but if I have to edge slightly it will be towards Nick Trainer, but only as he is about to be my father in law! ;-)

Either will do a top job for you and both regularly head to the west country.

Nick Trainer is based by Bucklers Hard and makes a darn good general engineer for any ongoing works too. Guardianarge style services.

I used Julian to survey my Bayliner when I purchased her earlier this year. Very thorough and good communication with me.

If I was at a loose end and not still up to my neck in work id take a trip across Andy, there are a couple of boats in the west I might view if mine sells, other than that id get a quote from Darthaven marine the nearest volvo dealer to Torquay.

Presume its got kad 43s in, not much to ge wrong with them at all providing they have some service history.

Hi paul , sorry its got KAMD44s and i know you love them , Valves have been adjusted at 180 hrs ( chunks have been cut from floor beams to get rocker covers off ) , Darthaven have done the maintenance so far but when we get back to the solent we will need someone .

Yes me then!!

Remember the ill fated MBY run F36 when it did the round britain run, its 44 blew up because the valves were not adjusted due to sealines impossible installation, basically the floor on the f36 was bolted down, much improved by the time the f37 came along.

Good luck with the purchase.
