Still no success with finding spares for ST7000 auto pilot. According to boatyard its going to cost over 2000 beer tokens for a new 'system'. Does anyone know of someone who actually repairs electronics rather than just replace them, or someone who will fit spare bits for an 'obsolete' system without carping about warranties etc.?
They made so many ST7000s there must be a garage full somewhere !

Trev,

Rather depends what's wrong with it, and where you are. Surely a friendly marine electronics firm will look at it for you? Alternatively, Raymarine have a repair facility in Portsmouth who might help.

Ray Marine are complete W. In my concidered opinion. There must be countless electronic blokes on the dole that could sort these problems out. I've had it as well. Major brake down at work. Sorted in a day. Electronics. Air sysems. Hydraulic systems. All coupled to 1960's motor and machine. A new £2-50 whatsit thingy and it's back to normal. On a boat it's £500 minimum.
