There are a few Ocean 30s at my club, at least one has an infill panel and cushion between the front bunks. A "passion plank" as one old boy calls it!!!
This kind of works, but as the door opens into the fore-cabin it causes a problem. On this particular one, the door has been cut in half and works like a stable door. This sounds good in principle, but in practice due to the floor being lower in the saloon than the fore-cabin it is quite a vault over the half door and onto the bed. A Frosbie Flop kind of manoeuvre!
a passion plank . thats a classic ,
ya u downt have alot of room to manouver, what i did with the door was to take out the door frame and turn it around so now it hangs on the left looking from the saloon to the fore cabin and opens into the saloon , now what im thinking is to rip out the bed on the right and make a singel seat just in side the door ,then to widen the bed on the left to the door frame but all i would be gaining is about 10"
