Is all thats required to fill out the form for amending a marine license? (Form Of347)
Have a call sign, license number, lifetime license etc, just no MMSI, and upgrade to a DSC VHF will be handy to have that MMSI.

apply online, or for stressfree satisfaction, pick up the phone and call them and speak to a friendly human being...and the new mmsi and upgraded licence should be with you within a couple of days...

If you have upgraded to a DSC radio you should amend your licence to record that. presumably the MMSI number will then be generated and automatically appear on the new licence.

It would be interesting to know if the new program that OFCOM have now installed is easier you use that the old one, but you will have to register first in order to use the online system. It will always be useful for making any future changes like adding other stuff that has to be licenced or recording changes of address. However as said it will probably be simpler to do it by phone

No no no, new OFCOM site scarily easy to use - try it now.

Tried to distraction old site, walked away for breather & Hey Presto, kindergarten stuff now, even a (hu)man can use it.

Just upgraded to dsc online. The website was a cinch to access and they instantly gave access to a new pdf licence to print out. Yes the new license does have an mmsi No. on it. All totally free. Quite gobsmacked really.
