Apologies if this has been posted already but I've just received this from our club:

Three temporary structures, marked by 30 cm diameter yellow floats have
been laid on the river bed, outside of the main navigation channel, off
the entrance to Alresford Creek and downstream of Priors Wharf,
Fingringhoe. The structures extend approximately 2 metres above the sea
bed and are recording information in support of the development of
Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve. The exact positions of the structures are:
51º 50.883N 000º 58.364E
51º 50.511N 000º 58.787E
51º 50.238N 000º 58.864E

All vessels should keep at least 5 metres clear of the structures and
should not moor in the vicinity. The structures will be in place for
approximately the next two months.
Further information may be obtained from the Harbour Office or by
calling on VHF Ch68 - S J Chick - Harbour Master, Brightlingsea
02.09.15

Brightlingsea Harbour Commissioners is the Competent Harbour Authority
for the Statutory Trust Port of Brightlingsea Harbour and The Local
Lighthouse Authority and Pilotage Authority for the River Colne from the
Inner Bench Head Buoy to the Roman River at Wivenhoe.

For everyone's benefit we do try and keep up with this stuff on our website. This item was posted there on Sept 3rd so it's perhaps worth keeping an eye on the site. Also it was on our Twitter feed.
(Hope nobody regards this as advertising...the website is a free service to everyone and a massive overhead on my spare time!)

It's used by Twids like me....
Surprisingly useful, actually. A lot of stuff on there from people like port authorities, marinas etc these days. Probably 99.9% of the total traffic is carp but you just don't tune in to that.

Not at all, yours and Tillergirls contributions help make this forum what it is. :)
