Observation from a newbie

I'm new to this forum but have been a lurker for quite a while. I've read lots of posts, including those of Matts and find it very difficult to believe that a man who purports to have millions of pounds, an airplane and a super yacht would bother with this forum. Is this man on the level or is he some sort of Walter Mitty character ?

IMHO but a nice guy, saddled with a strange but not unhealthy liking for the Simpson's, and a penchant for helping bewildered novice boaters (like me), a genuine good character.

If you're going to question Waterbaby - you might at least fill in your profile so we can learn something about you...

BTW - Expect to be flamed a little, Matts a long time poster and has a few friends on board... of course they might just not post and ignore you <G>

Just 'cos a dude is loaded then why would he want to banter here? taking your thoughts to logical conclusions Maybe ChrisP and I should pack up rolling our own fags because we can afford Havana Cigars and I should stop eating Tuna Sarnies because I can afford Caviar. A genuine nice guy. Actually (CMIIW) I dont think he has purported those things, only ownership of an (in-build) 23m boat, which is most def true and not Mittyish, cuz I've seen it in the flesh at factory. Anyway I don't follow your logic, people with a few ££mill are exactly the same as people with ££00 aren't they, so why presume they wouldn't surf net and post on BBs?

I've obviously made a VERY big mistake here and humbly apologise to Matts and anyone else I may have offended. Except, that is, for Oddball. How dare he cause the resignation of Paulineb, she the best thing to happen to the BB in yonks. She's witty, clever, pretty, young, stylish, on-the-ball, the best helmsperson ever - all that and she's hold down a high-powered full time job and runs a house, a husband, children and a super new merc.

C'mon old chap, ya can't make new friends and all that by calling someone you've never met.

The internet is one of the greatest social levellers ever devised and a good way for people with a community interest to get together. The other great leveller is boating itself where guys with runabouts like mine chat over a cyber-pint with Targa 46 owners.
