I am going to look at a boat moored near Nydri next week.
What can I expect in the way of weather - is a trial sail out of the question ?
Thanks,
Ken

Hi, I'm new on this forum and not quite sure how it works. Hopefully you get this!

I've spent lots of time in Nidri and I can tell you that it is very sheltered. You'll have to get out a bit to get some decent wind, if its blowing. The weather forecasts for that area are usually quite acurate but I would get at least more than one.

Hi,

Our boat is in the marina at Lefkas, though I'm in UK at the mo. The weatheronline.co.uk site gives a good 5 day forecast for the area - generally reliable especially day 1-3. The Ionian is split down into quite detailed parts.

Happy to help with opinion on any other local info if you need it.

Cheers

Steve.

I would have thought a trial sail a must --- the weather is rarely a problem just go south down the canal to the best cruising area for many a nautical mile. If you need any knowledge of yachts in thr area Imay be abke to help having been based in Nidri/Levkas for many years
