Now what?

Chinita, My auntie Nora is visiting Spain next week, she is towing her caravan, as she is 87 years old she was very worried about the diving suit. I checked with the Embassy, it is NOT compulsary to wear one.
Dogs need a passport, something to do with Illegal immigrants coming from africa. They knew nothing about Asses though, but said waterboarding is not allowed at any speed.

I'm not welsh but my brother is after my mother was evacuated there during the war. and she was only 14.

My brother would be furious if he was caled a racist but he went to oz in 1966 and we have not seen him since.I hope he is not reading this.

Latest update the 'boss' knows nothing about it so are the cops just bent.Nothing on record or even boat reg.

Bastids. They cause all this grief and dont even bother to fine you. What a waste of time. no wonder the police are so corrupt and the whole of the eu is a failed state.

But is he their boss. or just a boss? It can make an awful lot of difference.
Even if he is their boss he may have his own targets. So if you don't pay the fine it will get doubled and that goes into his poncho.

You just can't trust these foreighners. They reckon that in Spain they aren't foreigners and that you are. That just shows how liitle respect they have for you.
I mean Hemmingway went and helped them out and everything and even wrote a book. I wouldn't have thought that would be much of a bonus really. i mean did you see the clothes he sold. Not what I'd call a designer.

I am assuming the police were Guardia Civil, but they could have been military, in that area, so select the appropriate Direccion General in what follows.

Make full and detailed report in writing (English will do just fine) with copies of all relevant documents (you keep the original, por si acaso) to the Direccion General of the corresponding police force in Madrid. Department: Inspeccion General. Make it clear that there is now no record of said fine in the hands of "boss", and that this could point to a possible scam. Send a copy to the local Juzgado and to the local MP.

The Inspeccion General will then take it from there, or the Juzgado will open an investigation.

To stamp out this kind of possible behaviour, it is necessary that the people affected report the cases that occur, adequately documented.

If your original post and the other details are all true, and I have no reason to doubt you whilst having every reason to want to make sure the details are correct, the ones responsible are in for a roasting, at the very least.

Despite what people on this forum seem to think, Spain does take these cases seriously, very seriously. Spain survives on tourism, full stop. To have any chance of recovering from the current difficulties, Spain cannot allow its main earner to be damaged.

swmbo spoke to our windowcleaner today. He is from Mexico. He said:

'Palo de la multa por el culo'

Dunno what it means in mexican.

Roughly translates to "shove the fine where the sun don't shine"...

I speak decent Spanish if you need translator - my wife even better, but she was born there!
