I've done all the updates to my folio 5602 Falmouth to Teignmouth... but how do I easily find out when there are new updates to apply?

On the admiralty site, they simply list a load of links:

http://www.admiraltyleisure.co.uk/ALD_FOLIO_NM.asp

With no mention of when those files were last updated.

Only way I can see to work it out is to manually go through the entire document and make sure I've got all the updates that are listed... and keep doing this every month or so - or when about to embark on a voyage.

I assume I'm missing something?

Is there a way to get an email automatically when new updates are made?

Cheers!

I was going to suggest you do as I do, which is print-off the folio corrections every so often (e.g. every other month, or before a significant trip), and tick them off (as well as record the NM number on the chart) as you go. The corrections are cumulative, with new ones added to the end of the document.

However, having last done this at the beginning of April for folio 5600 ed10, I now find that UKHO has removed these corrections from their site, and replaced them with the corrections to ed11 (not due to be published until 8 May). I therefore have no easy way to check that I have the latest corrections other than trawl through the weekly notices.

And before anyone suggests I should buy ed11 - why should I - I have a fully corrected set of ed10, and do not intend buying new charts until Chi West Pole and Bar Beacon are shown - which won't be until ed12.

The Leisure series Notices To Mariners are updated once a week on the Admiralty Leisure website (i.e. the link you have). The new ones are added at the bottom and are ordered in the numerical order in which they are issued. For example, number L1035/08 indicates that this is notice # 1,035 issued in 2008 (I'm guessing the L is for Leisure).

The numerical order isn't sequential as you'll be looking at the notices for one particular chart, while the notices are issued for all charts in the Leisure series as a whole, but you'll notice the numbers increasing from the top of the page to the bottom.

I don't think there's an email function yet, but you can get more info and search for the latest updates at http://www.nmwebsearch.com/ .

Finally, I must say that I admire your dedication to keeping your charts up-to-date. In my experience too few leisure sailors do.
