UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices
1. FRANCE - North Coast - Foul. - A new FOUL on the Haut-Fond de Gravelines bank off Dunkerque. There have been two earlier NtMs (1609 and 5307) this year about the ‘bank’ notifying obstn and other FOULS. Image shows all the changes.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Foul. - A new FOUL in the Two-Way Route at the Long Sand Head. Not a place for leisure craft to anchor! There have been four previous NtMs (3310, 3706(P), 4540(P) and 5483) this year reporting reduced depths there. The image includes all the ‘activity’.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Three slight reductions of depth at the north entrance of Fisherman’s Gat and 2 just outside of the Knock John Channel (where we ought not to be). Depths at the Fisherman’s Gat are ample for leisure craft.
4. FRANCE - North Coast - Wreck. - One new wreck on the Bassure de Baas off Boulogne, just East of the App. Boulogne south cardinal buoy. At just over 10m, unlikely to hinder leisure craft.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. Obstruction. - A temporary notice confirming the local Sizewell Harbour NtM No 15. A lit orange buoy marks an obstruction which may extend 4m up from the seabed. A 200m clear zone is recommended round the orange buoy. The image includes the marking of the Sizewell Harbour limits.

1. River Thames - Gravesend Reach - Red Lion Wharf: Lifting Operations - commencing on Thursday 4th December for approximately 2 days, lifting operations will be taking place at Red Lion Wharf in Gravesend Reach. The exact location is indicated by a red box on the chartlet: Works involve personnel working from a Mobile Elevated Works Platform (MEWP) onboard Multicat ‘CHILI DOG’ positioned alongside the berth. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’, with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed. The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea. Further information will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF 68.
2. River Thames - Gravesend Reach - Northfleet Thames Terminal: Diving & Lifting Operations - commencing on Monday 8th December 2025 for approximately two days, diving and lifting operations will take place at Northfleet Thames Terminal as shown on the chartlet. Tug ‘SILVERBEAM’, Barge ‘RP BLACKWALL’ and Workboat ‘MARY J’ will be in attendance and will be displaying the following signals while diving is taking place:
By day, International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’, ‘Alpha (A)’ and a red flag near the diver’s point of entry into the water.
By night, illuminated rigid replicas of the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ and ‘Alpha (A)’.
Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’. Further information will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF 68.
3. River Thames - Bugsbys Reach - Victoria Dock Entrance: Relocated Barge Tier - on or around 1st December 2025, the collar barge currently located at ‘Waterloo Barge Tier’ will be permanently moved to a new location in the vicinity of Victoria Dock Entrance. This notice will remain in place until such time as adequate chart corrections have been promulgated.
4. Harwich Haven - Survey and Dredging Operations – Update 4 - survey and dredging operations are taking place as follows:

The backhoe dredger Magnor is carrying out boulder removal operations in Harwich Harbour and the Harwich Deep Water Channel, with the assistance of multicat tug Wind Lass. Tug Union Topaz is working with split-hopper barge Terraferre 501, to transport boulder material to the Inner Gabbard East disposal site. Contact Harwich VTS (VHF 71) for more information.
5. Harwich Haven - Surveyed Depths – Harwich Harbour - Update 23 - The controlling depth for deep draught vessels navigating within the harbour area should currently be taken as 15.4m below chart datum, plus height of tide. Significant depths below chart datum (not including inside berth boxes) are:
• 15.4m - spot soundings between the North West Beach Buoy and Grisle Buoy
• 15.3m - spot soundings between the Grisle Buoy and Shotley Spit Buoy
• 15.2m - spot soundings between the Shotley Spit Buoy and Babergh Buoy

6. Chatham Docks – North Lock & Approaches - Dredging Operations - are due to take place at Chatham Dock North Lock and approaches, dredging is due to commence on or around 2nd of December 2025 with completion expected by 16th December 2025. All dredging will be carried out by the water injection dredger (WID) “Melwey” who will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times and display the required signals for respective operations by day and night. Dredging will be focussed within the north lock between inner and outer gate and in the approaches to the north lock as shown. All vessels passing Chatham lock approaches and manoeuvring in and out of Chatham Docks during the dredging period are requested to navigate with caution reducing speed and wash accordingly. 7. River Crouch - Fairway Lighted Buoys No 3 and 11 – NAVIGATION - Fairway No 3 Lighted Buoy in approximate position 51°37.176 N, 000°50.014E and Fairway No 11 Lighted Buoy in approximate position 51°37.436 N, 000°48.301 E have been removed temporarily for maintenance.
8. River Crouch - Raysand Buoys – NAVIGATION - the Raysand Buoy in approximate position 51°40.840 N, 001°00.570 E and Raysand North Buoy in approximate position 51°40.810 N, 001°00.570 E are now back on station.
9. Blakeney Harbour - No. 1 Starboard Lateral Marker - No. 1 starboard lateral marker is off station and ashore on Blakeney point. All vessels should avoid entering Blakeney Harbour until further notice, especially at night. If entering the following pilotage should be observed to navigate across the bar. From Fairway Marker follow a bearing of 175*T for 0.4NM until due east of starboard lateral marker #3. Then follow a bearing of 270*T towards starboard lateral marker #3. After this all-lateral marker’s positions are valid and can be followed visually.
