UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices

2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Fairway. - This NtM extends the marking which defines the Princes Channel. Previously the marking for the Channel ran from the Princes Inner yellow special buoy to Princes No 5. Now the new marking widens the south side of the west entrance to Princes No 8 and extends the marking east of Tongue Sand Tower on the north side and just short of the East Margate on the south side.
3. FRANCE - North Coast - NM Blocks. Wreck. Obstruction. Depths. Legend. Light. - This notice provides five UKHO blocks for different SN and SC charts. The images effectively deal with three areas. First, the coast just east of Calais, second, the approaches to the West port of Dunkerque and finally a detailed block of the Haut-Fond de Gravelines bank off Dunkerque. The notice includes several isolated changes:
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wreck. - This is a Temporary Notice confirming the local Medway notice recently announcing a dangerous wreck on the pontoons just upriver of the Rochester Bridge.

1. River Thames - Sea Reach - Calor Gas Canvey Works - at the time of publishing this Notice, the works at Calor Gas Canvey terminal which were previously notified in PLA Notices to Mariners L78-24 and L35-25, remain in progress. These works include use of scaffolding, operatives working on the waterline and lifting operations. A safety boat will attend at times during the works. These works are expected to be complete by 31st August 2026 and the general location of the works is shown by the red markings in the chartlet. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’, displayed. The display of these signals by a vessel will be in addition to any lights, shapes or signals required in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS) and local regulations. Further details will be broadcast as needed by London VTS on VHF channels 68 & 69.
2. Surveyed Depths – Harwich Harbour - Update 20 - the latest hydrographic surveys showing depths in Harwich Harbour which are published as follows: Charts & Surveys - Harwich Haven Authority The controlling depth for deep draught vessels navigating within the harbour area should currently
be taken as 15.2m below chart datum, plus height of tide. Significant depths below chart datum (not including inside berth boxes) are:
• 15.2m - spot soundings between the North West Beach Buoy and Grisle Buoy
• 15.3m - spot soundings between the Grisle Buoy and Shotley Spit Buoy
• 15.1m - spot soundings between the Shotley Spit Buoy and Babergh Buoy

The backhoe dredger Magnor will be carrying out boulder removal operations in Harwich Harbour and the Harwich Deep Water Channel, with the assistance of support tug Terramare 1. Tugs Union Topaz and Union Onyx will be working with split-hopper barges Terraferre 501 and Terraferre 502, to transport boulder material to the Inner Gabbard East disposal site. Gateway and Sospan Dau are carrying out trailing suction hopper dredging (TSHD) work supported by the Maverick and MTS Valour. Gateway will dispose of material at Inner Gabbard, and the Sospan Dau will place material in the designated beneficial sites in the River Stour and River Orwell

- A wreck (showing any part of the hull at CD) east of Dunkerque west harbour entrance, just south of the DW21 SHB for the Chenal Intermediaire. Some charts already show that marked.
- Emendation of the light characteristics of the Harbour Entrance light on the east side of the Dunkerque east entrance. The change is to add ‘12m’.
- Adding a Obstn of 7m in the Riden de la Rade east of the Calais entrance. Some charts already show it.
- A reduction of depth to 8m from 11.5m east of Calais and a ‘Less water reported 2021) solely for UNHO SNC 1892. All other charts already have those corrections.
