With apologies for the delay - been voucher earning in France

Permanent Notices

None except that on 27th October the UKHO will issue a new version of Charts 1607 (Thames Estuary Southern Part) and 2571 (The Swale). The Estuary chart will provide "significant safety-related information on changes to depths from the latest British Government survey between Overland Passage and Margate Road".

Temporary

The Bradwell Baffle Wall exclusion zone now has EGS84 coordinates instead of Google Earth (handy that!) and I have redrawn the exclusion zone on the image. That starts on Thursday next week.

London Array - some cabling work near the Gat and some foundations 'tba'. Note that they frequently put in foundations without giving prior notice so always call the Mary Ann 1 (the guard boat) for an update.

C'est tout as we say en France.:D (Lovely views of the Kent Coast as we crossed Dungerness at 10,000 ft last night. From there you could see a collection of lights at the London Array. Wonderful views.)

But you can leave the beacon either side can't you Roger?

If you can get up the creek then you can leave the NC beacon to either side.

It's going to seem strange not having it there but scenic it ain't. The crew are being based in the long blue building at the western end of marina - more work boats to contend with for those of us up that end but at least they are not doing it in the height of summer (or are they).

The concrete structure centre structure is supposed to be all that is left by February, 2012. I'll check my notes later but I don't think that is coming down until 2014.

So it shouldn't affect you that much. The Commodore of Bradwell quay YC and others I believed voiced objections to the idea that the scrap would come ashore in the creek and be taken away by road. It is now going away via barge.

Oooh, I wonder if they have re-surveyed the Swale?
I did a bit this morning. Went aground somewhere I didn't expect it. Still, I was pushing my luck and it was only LWS+1...
What a glorious day it was to be afloat, to be sure.
