UKHO Permanent, Te,porary or Preliminary Notices

1. NETHERLANDS - Restricted area. Buoyage. -
A new restricted area on the east side of the Dutch Borssele Wind Farm. This abuts the Borssele Wind Farm passage reported recently. Image of course as usual for all.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Fouls. Obstruction. -
Two FOULS In the Yantlet Secondary Channel (Sea Reach, River Thames) are deleted. One obstruction added in the south secondary channel well east of the No 3 pairs. Unlikely to be a place we would be or hinder us.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Obstruction. - A new obstruction charted at 0.7m not far north of Sun Pier, at Chatham. Probably worth noting. Image of course.
4. ENGLAND - South East Coast - Historic wreck - A new notification of a Historic Wreck in the Goodwin Fork side of the West Goodwins.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Six new reduction of depth in the River Thames, two in Woolwich Reach west of the Barrier and 4 in Bugsby Reach off North Woolwich. Two images.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Five reductions of depth in the East Swin, east of the N. Middle. At all 8m+ still ok for us but obviously a continual trend of reduction.
7. ENGLAND - East Coast - Note. Restricted area. Wreck. Legend. - Interesting this: a wreck on the banks of the River Roach, just above Paglesham is now designated an Historic Wreck. Anyone know of it?
8. ENGLAND - South Coast - Buoy. -
The yellow buoy just outside the eastern arm of Dover Harbour (marking a wreck I believe) is moved slightly.

Local (briefly but in full detail on: Notices to Mariners)

1. ST CLEMENT’S REACH - WEST THURROCK SALTMARSH WORKS -
On or about 20th September 2021, works will commence around Stoneness Point to install brushwood revetments along the extent of the saltmarsh. The works will be undertaken using the vessel SEADOG, with a safety hovercraft on site. The works are mostly inshore, though vessels will be moving supplies periodically and can be contacted via VHF if necessary. The works are expected to be completed by 05th November 2021. Further information will be broadcast by London VTS on channel 68. The chartlet shows the approximate location of the works.
2. BLACKWALL & BUGSBY’S REACHES - BLACKWALL POINT TO TRINITY BUOY WHARF - LASER BEAM - From 25th September 2021, a temporary laser beam will be in operation between the ‘Slice of Reality’ at Blackwall Point and the Trinity Buoy Wharf Lighthouse, as depicted in the chartlet. The laser will be in operation between approximately 1800 and 2245 daily from 25th September to 21st November 2021, and will be sited at an approximate elevation of 19 metres above Chart Datum.
An operator will be in attendance at all times during the operating hours of the beam, which will be switched off for known Reporting Vessel movements between North Greenwich Pier and Ordnance Wharf. The operator will keep a listening watch on VHF Channel 14 but will be unable to transmit. Any vessels intending to transit the area may also request that the beam is switched off by contacting London VTS who will relay the information to the operator. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.

Dates are approximate and subject to alteration.
4. River Medway – Esplanade Pier Rochester - Sunken Vessel - Peel Ports have been made aware of a sunken vessel that is obstructing Esplanade Pier in Rochester. The craft is estimated to be 15m length over all and is still visible by the bow which is secured to the pier. The vessel has been made fast as best as possible and efforts will be made in the coming days to lift and remove the boat. Once recovered a cancellation notice will be issued but until this can be done the craft’s bow has been temporarily marked with a yellow pellet buoy. All craft are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of Esplanade Pier and report any significant developments to Medway VTS.
5. River Medway - Saltpan Reach - Grain LNG – Jetty Inspections - works will be taking place at Grain LNG Terminal. Inspection operations are due to commence on Monday 13th September 2021 and last for approximately 14 days. The vessel “Eemslift Ellen” will load a marine loading arm at Sheerness, transport it to IOG where it will then unload the arm onto BP IOG. Jetty No.1. All vessels are requested to navigate with caution, minimise their wash when passing both locations during lifting operations and maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch.74

The USV “X-03” is operated by ‘XOcean’ (MMSI 232019976) and will be remotely controlled by a USV ‘Pilot’. The vessel is capable of working 24/7. The USV has AIS, Navigation lights a radar reflector and has a yellow superstructure (see photo). The survey offshore is expected to take approx. 7 days but may be extended if any weather or operational delays. In such circumstances the USV may require to temporarily return to port. "7. ENGLAND - East Coast - Note. Restricted area. Wreck. Legend. - Interesting this: a wreck on the banks of the River Roach, just above Paglesham is now designated an Historic Wreck. Anyone know of it?"

I think you mean 'just below Paglesham'. The spot you have marked is the hole in the mud where the remains of HMS Beagle are thought to be.
