2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - New special lit yellow buoy off Whitstable, close to the Clite Hole Bank.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Lights. - Change of lights and light characteristics on the baffle wall in the River Blackwater off the disused nuclear power station: two vertical lights removed and a single flashing light positioned in lieu.
4. NORTH SEA - Netherlands Sector - NM Blocks. - Two UKHO blocks for the Dutch coast off the Delta
5. BELGIUM - Buoy. - The yellow special lit buoy installed vide Notice 920(T) earlier this year has been moved west a ‘little bit’.
6. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - New yellow special lit buoy just north of the Blackwall Point, Bugsby Reach, River Thames.

1. Crouch Harbour Authority - 3 notices:
Removal of Town Pontoon, Burnham-on-Crouch -INFORMATION - the damaged Maldon District Council owned Town Pontoon at Burnham on Crouch in approximate position: 51° 37.45 N 000° 49.110 E will be removed, along with shore to pontoon access ramp. Works are scheduled to commence Monday 15th August 2022. The associated fixing piles will remain in situ. The outer most/seaward pair of piles previously securing the hammerhead will be marked with a fixed green light.
Inner Crouch Safe Water Mark – River Crouch - NAVIGATION - the Inner Crouch Safe Water Mark in approximate position: 51°37.189 N 000°55.087 E is now lit. Notice to Mariners 28 of 2022 is hereby cancelled.
River Crouch Survey Findings - INFORMATION - The Port of London Authority have on behalf of the CHA recently undertaken Survey Operations on the River Crouch and Approach in areas of particular interest to deeper draught vessel as follows:
• In the vicinity of the Swallowtail West Cardinal Light Buoy
• Between Buxey No 1 Southerly Cardinal Light Buoy and Buxey No 2 Northerly Cardinal Light Buoy
• In the vicinity of the Crouch Northerly Cardinal Light Buoy
This information is available to view on the links in the above quoted page (in the local list). It will further be incorporated in a new addition of Admiralty Chart 3750 [Rivers Crouch and Roach] scheduled for publication within the next few months by the UK Hydrographic Office [UKHO]. A further survey of the Raysand Channel has been commissioned for later this year. (Gladys and I did a survey west of the line of Ray Sand buoys today. I have to process the data but it seeemed unlikely to provide any alternative). The CHA will promulgate these findings and any alterations [if necessary] to the buoyage once completed. However, until then we would remind mariners of NTM No 43 of 2021 less water reported and re-emphasis that caution should be taken when using this route. 2. THE SWALE – KINGSFERRY BRIDGE - Period of Restricted Operation - due to planned industrial action by the rail Union RMT there will be disruption to the operating periods for Kingsferry Bridge. The strike is planned for Thursday 18th August and Saturday 20th August, however, the impact will also affect periods outside of this day. Network Rail have implemented contingency plans which will cover part of the disruption, please see below for the bridge operational timetable:
Thursday 18th August 2022: Midnight - 06:00 Normal service will be maintained
06:00 – 07:00 No bridge lifts available
07:00 – 19:00 Contingency operator on shift – Bridge lifts available
19:00 – 06:00 (19th) No bridge lifts available

High Water Sheerness: Thursday 18th August 05:40 @ 5.46m 17:47 @ 5.45m: Saturday 20th August 07:08 @ 4.89m 19:25 @ 4.83m. Priority will be given to commercial shipping, however, leisure craft will also be able to transit the bridge but it is advised to give as much notice as possible to avoid delays. If talks between employers and the unions are successful and industrial action is avoided a cancellation notice will be issued.
Admiralty Chart Number 2572 refers. Further information may be obtained from Medway VTS on VHF Channel 74, call sign “Medway VTS” or telephone 0151 949 6148 or 0151 949 6650 or from Kingsferry Bridge on VHF Channel 10.
3. River Medway - Saltpan Reach - Grain LNG Jetty Inspections - programmed summer maintenance of Grain LNG Jetties 10 & 8 will take place on/around Wednesday 17th August and continue for approximately 4 weeks. Works will include fender maintenance, pile inspections and cathodic protection checks all of which will be carried out on the waterline. Craft carrying out the work will be ‘Renate II’ , ‘Liftmoor’ and the ‘Avocet’ who will all maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times. Medway VTS will be contacted prior to works starting every day and a reduction in speed will be required whilst craft access areas along and beneath the jetties. All passing vessels are requested to navigate with caution and reduce their wash appropriately.
4. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Bathymetric Survey Works - River Port - bathymetric survey work will be undertaken within Great Yarmouth River Port on Tuesday 16th August from Survey Vessel INVESTIGATOR. The area to be surveyed is the river Yare between berths 12 and 15 (Third River Crossing) as shown in the above qujotd webpage in the Local List. Due caution should be exercised when in transit past this location including observance to maintaining safe distance. SV INVESTIGATOR can be contacted on VHF Ch12.
5. Dive operations Ipswich Cliff Quay - from 09 August 2022 – 21 August 2022 between 0800 and 1800 Dive operations will take place at Cliff Quay 500FT berth. Vessels are requested to keep well clear and pass the area at slow Speed.
Vessels alongside are to seek permission from Orwell Navigation Services, prior to starting their engines or ballast Systems. For more information contact Orwell Navigation Services on VHF Ch 68.
6. Ipswich Tidal Barrier Tests. - on 15 August and 16 August 2022 0800 and 1500 the Environment Agency will conduct annual routine tests and maintenance to the Ipswich Tidal Barrier. During this period the river will be closed off between the Tidal Barrier and Stoke Bridge. Upon completion of the barrier closure, the barrier will be re-opened gradually. Vessels approaching Ipswich Lock may experience additional currents as they make their approach. Vessel bound to the area upstream of the Tidal Barrier should at all times observe the Red/Green traffic lights at the Barrier. For more information contact Orwell Navigation Services on VHF Ch 68.
