1. River Medway - Saltpan Reach - London Thamesport - Diving Operations -
diving operations are due to take place at London Thamesport, work to inspect intake strainer pipework, support brackets and riverbed silt levels will commence on or around the 18/07/2022 with an estimated completion date of 23/07/2022, Diving operations will be conducted from workboat ‘Nipashore’ who will monitor VHF channel 74 at all times and notify Medway VTS when divers enter and exit the water, this is expected to be over the slack water periods. All dive ops will cease during the berthing/unberthing of ships, however, vessels arriving/departing London Thamesport should confirm the status of diving ops prior to manoeuvring.
Approximate position of dive tender “Nipashore” (Image on the usual page). All passing ships and leisure craft should navigate with caution and reduce their wash appropriately. 2. Sheerness Harbour and Scotline Terminal - Dredging Operations - dredging operations are due to take place along the berth face area of Sheerness Docks and at Scotline Terminal in Rochester. Dredging will commence on or around 15/07/2022 and is expected to be complete by 20/07/2022.
Sheerness Docks
Dredging activities will be concentrated along the quay face of all of the Sheerness berths and will be carried out by the water injection dredger “Borr”. Operations will commence 15/07/2022 and will be completed by 20/07/2022.
Scotline Terminal
Dredging activities will be concentrated within the approximate area highlighted in the chart below and will be carried out by the water injection dredger “Borr”. It is expected that dredging will commence on or around 18/07/2022 and will be completed by 20/07/2022.
‘Borr’ will display the required signals for respective operations by day and night, all vessels are requested to pass with caution and minimise their wash. Admiralty Chart Nos. 1835 and 3683 refer. 3. River Medway – Chatham Dock - Temporary Suspension of Service - due to component supply difficulties beyond our control repair work to the South Lock at Chatham Dock has been delayed. It is now expected that completion will be during calendar week 31 of 2022. Work to resolve issues with the North Lock is ongoing. Notice is hereby given that: following a recent vessel allision that led to significant damage, Chatham docks will be closed to navigation and unable to accept any vessel movements for a period of approximately 8 -12 weeks commencing 24th March 2022 in order to complete required repairs.
North Lock
As a consequence of a vessel allision, the North Lock will be closed indefinitely to undergo necessary repairs. Further updates on timescales and completion dates will be issued in due course.
South Lock
The South Lock inner & outer motors are currently being replaced as part of an ongoing refurbishment programme. The work is expected to be completed in approximately 8 - 12 weeks.
Updates on the status of locks will be promulgated via an amendment to this notice. Admiralty Chart No. 1835 refers.
4. East Coast of England - The Wash - Approaches to King’s Lynn - Amendment to Buoyage - due to changes in the profile of the approach channel to King’s Lynn, the following amendments to buoyage was carried out on 14th July 2022:
No.16 light buoy moved approx 105 metres x 195° to 52° 51’.340N 000°21’.110E Works were carried out by the work boat “St Edmund”. Please contact the Harbour Office, for further information.
5. Crouch Harbour Authority - 3 notices -
Re-Location of Swallowtail West Lighted Buoy - NAVIGATION - Following a recent survey of the Swallowtail Bank undertaken by the Port of London Authority on behalf of the Crouch Harbour Authority, mariners are advised that the Westerly Cardinal light buoy Swallowtail West has been re-located today 18/07/2022 to a new position of: 51° 39.956N, 01°02.369E. Light sequence and top-mark remain unchanged. The notice has an image of the survey details and can be downloaded on the usual page. I have also added a chartlet giving the location some context.
Whitaker No 3 Lighted Buoy – River Crouch - NAVIGATION - the Whitaker No 3 Lighted Buoy in approximate position: 51°40.038 N 001°03.217 E is now lit.
Inner Crouch Safe Water Mark – River Crouch - NAVIGATION - the Inner Crouch Safe Water Mark in approximate position: 51°37.189 N 000°55.087 E is unlit.
6. London Array Wind Farm - See the thread yesterday please.

And a personal note: The Nass Beacon at West Mersea was 'unreliable' on Saturday evening. Did flash correctly every now and again but was mostly not working.
