1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. -
Another notice with reduced depths on the west side of the Scroby Sands immediately after Notice 2946 in last week! This is five reduced depths alongside the swest side of the Scroby Sans and one correction on the south tail of the Caister Sand. The image includes reduced depths showing Notice 2946’s depths.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Preliminary -
A preliminary notice advising of two reduced depths on the south side of the Margate Hook; one reduced from 1.8m to 0.4m NE of the Reculver PHB – which should be out of our way – and 1.3m NE of the S. Margate SHB, again out of our way.
3. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoyage. Fog signal. Automatic Identification System. - This notice confirms the previous notice from Trinity House back in Week 22 that the Long Sand Head NCB was moved and an additional ECB (East Long Sand Head) was installed in the previous position of the NCB.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Eleven more reduced depths in the approaches to Great Yarmouth. There have now been 5 other Notices earlier this year :devilish: viz: 1641, 2639, 2946, 2963 and 3008. There are 4 images incorporating all the reductions.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Notice 1807 in week 16 reported a reduced depth of 8.8m just south of the Ovens SHB in Lower Hope Reach of the River Thames. This notice reports the depth is now 8.1m. But unlikely to hinder leisure craft.

1. London Gateway Crane Delivery -
On 20th June 2024, the vessel ZHEN HUA 28 will be delivering rail mounted gantry cranes to London Gateway Port. The ZHEN HUA 28 will also have two quay cranes onboard, which will remain onboard for the departure.
The quay cranes onboard will be in the lowered position, extending over the ship's side during both inbound and outbound voyages. The port side crane boom extends 68m, while the starboard side crane boom extends 58m. A minimum separation of half a mile should be maintained between vessels. Overtaking permission must be obtained from the ZHEN HUA 28 and London VTS. When overtaking the vessel, all vessels should keep a minimum distance of 200m. During the berthing & unloading process of the rail mounted gantry cranes, Local traffic control will be in place while the vessel manoeuvres, and traffic will be held until the ship is clear of the channel. A 100-metre exclusion zone will be established around the ZHEN HUA 28 and a speed restriction of 8 knots will be in effect. The unloading process is expected to take approximately 5 days. The ZHEN HUA 28 will depart on or around 25th June 2024, with two quay cranes. The same traffic management measures will apply during its outbound voyage. Unexploded Ordnance (MORE) - unexploded ordnance (UXO) has been discovered in the following position: Latitude 51˚ 30’.11 N, Longitude 001˚ 02’.41 E In the interests of safety, vessels are advised to keep at least 100m clear of the above position at all times. Vessels are particularly cautioned against anchoring, trawling or otherwise interacting with the seabed in the vicinity of the above position. The chartlet shows the general area, with the recommended 100m safety radius around the UXO position shown by the red circle. When considered necessary, London VTS will manage traffic to support safe navigation in the vicinity of the UXO and associated safety zone. Further information will be broadcast, as necessary, by London VTS on VHF channel 69. This Notice will remain published until such time as the information above is considered sufficiently promulgated or has been promulgated by other means; this Notice may then be withdrawn without further communication.
3. Chambers Wharf Lifting Operations - on Tuesday 25th June 2024 contractors at the Tideway Tunnel Chambers Wharf site will be carrying out lifting operations from a barge moored alongside the cofferdam. The operation will take place over 1 day. The chartlet shows the position of the barge alongside Chambers Wharf cofferdam. The barge GPS 601 will be arriving under tow from King Edward Memorial Park, departing there at 0500, and will swing on arrival at Chambers Wharf. The barge will be conducting lifting operations of sheet piles and a
speed reduction will be required during these operations. Tug SWS ENDURANCE will be on site throughout the operation. Request for vessels to proceed with caution or pass at slow speed will be made by London VTS on VHF ch.14, in accordance with the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, section 4. International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’ will be displayed accordingly. Vessels are requested to be mindful of the nature of the works, to be aware of vessels proceeding to and from the works, and of their wash when passing, particularly during crane lifting operations. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
4. River Stour & Harwich Haven Weather Stations – Update 1 - Harwich Haven Authority is making the following changes to the local live weather stations (data published on www.hha.co.uk - Live Data | Weather, Tide, Sailing information - Harwich, Felixstowe, Ipswich | Harwich Haven Authority). Sensor No. 4 - located at Landguard - will be offline on 25 and 26 June 2024 for essential maintenance work and the height will be adjusted to 11m above ground level / 15m above chart datum. Sensor No. 2 - located on Ganges Pier at Shotley Gate - will now be retired on 27 June 2024, having been successfully replaced by new Sensor No.7 at Erwarton Beacon. Additionally, in the week commencing 1 July 2024, the Harwich wind gauge on Navigation House will be relocated from the roof of the building to the knuckle of the Harbour Master’s Pier. This is to avoid building updraft effects and improve the reading quality.
5. Diving Operations at Great Yarmouth Power Station River Intake - survey and maintenance works will be conducted on the power station river intakes between berths 5C and 6 (Port Marks 91 – 96) within the Great Yarmouth River Port for three weeks between Monday 17th June and Friday 5th July 2024. The works will include diving operations undertaken by Red7 Inshore Diving Ltd between the hours of 0700 hours and 1800 hours Mon-Fri. Divers will be working from the quay face and within the power station intakes using underwater tools and equipment. The International Code flag ‘A’ will be exhibited when dive operations are taking place and red flags will be exhibited marking the extremities of the works. In addition, a subsurface cable will be raised and the connector placed on the quayside creating a small obstruction between 25th and 27th June. The cable will protrude no more than 2m from the quay wall. Masters must obtain information from Yarmouth Radio on VHF Channel 12 before approaching or departing from these berths and before any movement or operation of engines or thrusters close to or adjacent to these berths when diving operations are taking place. Masters are advised to exercise extreme caution when approaching or passing the dive site, to keep well clear of the works area and to pass at the slowest safe manoeuvring speed. Swinging of vessels will not be permitted anywhere within the works area mentioned above. 6. Private slipway Area at South Woodham Ferrers - INFORMATION - Please be aware that the launching of all vessels including canoes/kayaks/paddleboards/sailboards is not permitted from the private area of concrete slipway at South Woodham Ferrers, unless you are a member of the South Woodham Ferrers Ski Club or South Woodham Ferrers Yacht Club or have attained permission from them to do so.
7. Dover Harbour - Outer Marina Inner Wave Screen navigation light extinguished - Mariners are advised that the top red light on the two fixed red navigation lights (2F.R) on the Inner Wave Screen Wall is extinguished. Currently there is only one fixed red light. (Chartlet).
