7. Chatham Docks Re-opening Revised Procedures -
repairs to the North Lock at Chatham Dock have been completed and the Dock will be re-opening for commercial vessel movements as of Thursday 12th June 2025, lock bookings will be available from this date on. Vessels will be locked in and out of the North Lock 1½ hours either side of High Water Chatham and up to the maximum operating level of 6.0m rise of tide at Chatham. Vessel agents and terminal operators should be aware that operational changes have been made since the closure in 2024, these requirements are effective immediately.
• Lock bookings are only to be made via “Portlinks” OBP at the time the vessel booking is made. Lock slots are to be added during the “OBP” booking process, however, Peel Ports Group Marine Planners are able to assist if difficulties are experienced.
• A minimum of 24 hrs notice for lock movements must be given during weekday, office hours. Lock bookings for weekends and bank holidays must be received by 17:00 on the Thursday prior to the intended movement, this is for both inbound and outbound movements.
• Any questions regarding the booking process are to be directed to Group Marine Planners groupmarine.planners@peelports.com, and lock operations enquires are to be sent to chathamlockservices@peelports.com

8. King’s Lynn Harbour - River Great Ouse. - Hanseatic water ski event Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd June 2025. - international water ski races are planned to be held in King’s Lynn Harbour on Saturday 21st June over the 1502 hrs high water and on Sunday 22nd June over the 1609 hrs high water.
The full course will extend from the Cut pylons to south of the Boal Quay there will be turn Buoys placed in the river for the duration of the races & each race should last for 35 minutes. Safety boats will maintain position to the north and south of the course and will advise boat owners accordingly.
Mariners are requested to maintain position north or south of the course while each race is taking place and then navigate with caution and comply with any request of the safety boats If large commercial vessels are arriving or departing ABP Docks King’s Lynn the timing of races and extent of the course may be altered. Launching and recovery of craft will be taking place at South Quay 6 Berth. SQ6 and the visitor pontoons have been fully booked over the duration of the weekend. These craft travel at high speed when racing and safety marshals will be monitoring each race. Large numbers of spectators are expected on the riverside and the South Quay will have a road closure in force. Vessels wishing to move during the races are requested to Contact the Harbour Master. The Harbour Master will be maintaining a listening watch on VHF channel 14.
9. Dover Rowing Club Regatta - on Sunday 22nd June 2025 Dover Rowing Club will host their annual regatta. The event is planned to commence from 06:00 and continue through until 17:30. The course will be contained within the area marked by the boundary on the chartlet below and course marker buoys will be laid within this area for the event. There will be twelve lanes for racing. Vessels launching from the slipway must call Dover VTS on VHF Channel 74 before launching and again before entering the harbour or recreation area for recovery. Those transiting the racecourse must do so at slow speed, keeping clear of rowers. The designated swim zone within the recreation area will be suspended from 0600 on 22nd June until 18:00 on 22nd June. During this time swimmers should exercise extreme caution and be mindful that boats may be moving at speed withing the boundary of the racecourse.
There will be two safety boats in attendance throughout the event who will provide safety cover at all times.
10. Dover - BLDSA Swimming Event - on Saturday 21st June 2025 the British Long Distance Swimming Association (BLDSA) will host their Champion of Champions swimming event within the designated swim zone between the hours of 08:00 to 18:00. Vessels launching from the slipway must call Dover VTS on VHF Channel 74 before launching and again before entering the harbour or recreation area for recovery. Those transiting the swim zone must do so at slow speed, keeping clear of swimmers. Two BLDSA safety boats will be patrolling the course during the event and kayakers will also be in the water acting as safety marshals.
