UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary and Trinity House Notices
1. New Editions of ADMIRALTY Charts to be published on 27th April, 2023 - Chart 1200 - International Chart Series England - East Coast, The Wash Ports. 1:37,500: Boston. 1:10,000: Approaches to Boston. 1:20,000: Continuation of the River Nene. 1:50,000: Continuation of the River Nene to Wisbech. 1:50,000: Lynn Cut continued. 1:37,500: Kings Lynn. 1:10,000 - Includes amendment to lights and depths from the latest Port Authority Surveys.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Three new reductions of depth in the Corton Road (north of the approaches to Lowestoft). The depths are unlikely to hinder leisure craft (note the image includes a fourth reduction of depth in the Corton Road from the previous NtM 1023). 3. ENGLAND - South East Coast - Drying heights. Depths. - 8 revised drying heights and 6 reduction of depth in and around the Goodwin Sands with some dramatic changes (e.g. 12.2m reduced to 2.2m). There were some extensive revised depths in the Gull Stream vide NtM 815 so the image of that notice is worth consideration in conjunction with this Notice.
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Depths. - Four reductions of depths, one in the River Yare and three just south of the entrance to the River Yare.
5. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoy. - This Notice is confirming the local Notice from the Crouch Harbour Authority that the Ray Sand North Safe Water buoy went off station. I believe the buoy will be replaced in a different position in due course.
6. Trinity House Notice - EAST COAST OF ENGLAND - APPROACHES TO THE RIVER DEBEN - WOODBRIDGE HAVEN LIGHTED BUOY - Amendment: Moved to new assigned position: Latitude 51° 58.244’N., Longitude 001° 23.855’E;
Movement effected consequent upon a recent survey. - This is confirmation of the new position which has already been notified by East Coast Pilot and published by Imray - see: Downloads | ECP

1. RIVER THAMES - BLACKWALL REACH - EXCLUSION ZONE AND LOCAL TRAFFIC CONTROL - An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Show will be conducted in Blackwall Reach on Wednesday 26th April 2023, between approximately 20:30 and 21:00. In addition, two rehearsals will take place on Tuesday 25th April and Wednesday 26th April between the hours of 00:01 to 05:00 daily. To support these operations, an Exclusion Zone will be established between Northumberland Wharf and London Yard. When the Exclusion zone is established, Port of London Authority (PLA) Harbour Service Launches, will be in attendance displaying flashing blue lights to provide Local Traffic Control as required. Mariners may experience delays to their passage of no more than 15-minutes and the PLA will endeavour to ensure disruption to port operations are kept to a minimum. Owners and operators are reminded that no manned vessels other than emergency service vessels responding to an incident and vessels engaged in operations are permitted within the exclusion zone. All vessels are to maintain a continuous watch on VHF Channel 14, following instructions from the attending Harbour Service Launches exhibiting flashing blue lights; call sign prefix ‘THAMES PATROL’. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
2. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Plough / Bed levelling Tug Operations - From around 3 April 2023, the Subsea Construction Vessel, Assister (IMO: 9193783), will be carrying out plough / bed-levelling operations in areas G and H of the Harwich Deep Water Channel. The Assister will be towing a 20m wide heavy levelling beam on the seabed behind the tug. SCV Assister: IMO: 9193783 / Length: 90.3m / Breadth: 23.0m / Draft (Scantling): 7.8m Gross Tonnage: 6,536 T / Bollard Pull: 252 T. Due to the nature of the rigging and towing arrangements, vessels should not come alongside the Assister during bed-levelling operations. The dredging contractor is the Van Oord / Boskalis Westminster Joint Venture appointed by Harwich Haven Authority to carry out the Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project. 3. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Temporary buoy moves – Update 8 - On or around 01/04/2023 the Walker and the Southwest Shipwash buoys will be moved to temporary positions, outside the channel limits, approximately 60m to the east of the channel toe-lines to allow for dredging operations. 4. River Medway - Saltpan Reach - BP Isle Of Grain No.1 Jetty - Diving Operations - further diving operations are due to take place at BP Isle of Grain Jetty No.1. Dive Ops to inspect the jetty structure are expected to commence 07/04/2023 with completion anticipated by 20/04/2023, daily diving operations will take place between the approximate hours of 08:00 and 18:00. The dive support vessel “Calmar” will be on site for the duration of works and will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 at all times. ‘Calmar’ will display the required signals for respective operations, all vessels are requested to pass with extreme caution, minimise their wash and monitor VHF Ch.74 at all times. 5. Suffolk Yacht Harbour – Dredging Operations - plough dredging work will be taking place in the Suffolk Yacht Harbour channel by a 12m workboat ‘Edgar’ during the week commencing on the 1st April for approx. 1 month weather dependant.
All Mariners are advised to keep well clear and pass at slow speed.
6. Reminder: Dredging Operations at Royal Harwich Yacht Club and Woolverstone Marina - Dredging operations will be undertaken in the River Orwell at Woolverstone Marina as follows: - - ‘CH Horn’ working at Woolverstone Marina – from 9th January until 30th April 2023. Mariners are advised to keep a wide berth from these vessels during dredging operations and maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch. 68.
7. Dredging Operations at Essex Marina - Essex Marina have now completed their Maintenance Dredging Operations in the approach to and within Essex Marina, Wallasea Island, Essex.
