1. Trinity House Notice - EAST COAST OF ENGLAND - APPROACHES TO HARWICH - HARWICH DEEP WATER CHANNEL - To facilitate the dredging of the Harwich channel the following buoy moves have taken place: Walker Lighted Buoy
Moved back to assigned position: Latitude 51° 53.791’N., Longitude 001° 33.903’E: Southwest Shipwash Lighted Buoy Moved back to assigned position: Latitude 51° 54.750’N., Longitude 001° 34.213’E
2. Burnham Yacht Harbour – Yellow Lighted Special Mark - the Yellow Lighted Special Mark at the entrance to Burnham Yacht Harbour is now back in its charted position of: 51° 37.498N, 000° 48.221E
3. Harwich Haven Channel Deepening Project: Temporary buoy moves – Update 7 - On or around 20/03/2023 two Harwich Harbour buoys, the College Buoy and the Shotley Spit Buoy will be moved to temporary positions outside the existing channel limits to allow for dredging operations. The College Buoy is to be moved about 50m outside the dredged toe-line and the Shotley Spit Buoy is to be moved about 55m along the Stour Channel toe-line.
Table A show the buoys which are to be moved to their temporary positions. Table B shows all the buoys which, following this move, will be in their temporary positions, approximately 50 – 60m outside the channel toe lines. See the position in the Local List on Notices to Mariners
4. PORT OF GREAT YARMOUTH - Temporary River Closure - Notification of the first temporary closure of the river Yare, as part of the Great Yarmouth Third River Crossing.
• Closure Date: 21st March 2023 • Time: 08.00 • Duration: 72 hours • Location: Area shown by red line boundary in image. See the image in the Local list on the above quoted page.
5. London Array Offshore Wind Farm - Potential Exposed and Shallow Buried HV Export Cables - Results of the 2022 London Array export cable survey. The chart lists the potential exposures / shallow burial on the four export cables that connect the wind farm to shore at:
• Area 1 - KP29.8 to KP30.6 (either side of the Britned crossing)
• Area 2 - KP35 to KP35.2
• Area 3 - KP47 to KP47.6 (within the Wind Park)
• Area 4 - KP52 to KP52.3 (within the Wind Park) (see the image in the Local List on the above quoted page AND download the full Notice if you require full positions)
They advise against anchoring or operating bottom contact gear within 0.25nm of a submarine cable regardless of burial depth due to the risk defined. This notice to mariners advises of the risks of potentially exposed and shallow buried cable. - Don't go near them with an anchor!
There are no immediate plans for remediation as the areas highlighted (other than the Britned crossing) have not stabilised and are experiencing cycles of exposure followed by reburial. However, the situation is being monitored and will be subject to further annual surveys.
