1. River Thames - Gravesend Reach - Gravesend Lower Anchorage - on or about Monday 16th March, PLA Marine Services Operatives, working from vessel TITAN, will undertake works in Gravesend Reach, laying a new mooring buoy. The location of works is marked in the chartlet.
Any requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed, will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, ‘Section 4’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee’ displayed. The display of these signals will be in addition to any lights or shapes required under local regulations and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 68.
2. River Thames - Sea Reach - Calor Gas: Jetty Works - the works at Calor Gas Canvey terminal have extended to include the east side of the Jetty approach. These works include use of scaffolding, operatives working on the waterline and lifting operations. A safety boat will attend at times during the works. These works are expected to be complete by 31st August 2026 and the general location of the works is shown by the red markings in the chartlet. Requirements to proceed with caution or at slow speed will be made in accordance with the procedures set out in the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘Speed Reductions’ with the International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY). The display of these signals by a vessel will be in addition to any lights, shapes or signals required in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS) and local regulations. Further details will be broadcast as needed by London VTS on VHF channels 68 & 69.
3. Harwich Haven - Scientific Equipment Recovered - the scientific equipment previously deployed as per local notice to mariners 2026-08 has now been recovered and removed from the following locations:
BM ADCP2a 51° 57.172’ N 001° 10.992’ E
BM ADCP3a 51° 57.007’ N 001° 18.003’ E
BM ADCP4 51° 54.542’ N 001° 19.367’ E
4. Harwich Haven - Temporary Removal of Halfpenny Pier Pontoon Gangway, - are advised that the pontoon gangway at Halfpenny Pier in Harwich will be removed from 09 March 2026 until around 13 March 2026 for essential maintenance. During this removal period, there will be no access between the pontoons and main pier.
5. Lowestoft Outer Harbour and Approaches – Continuation of XOcean USV transits - transits of XOcean remotely piloted Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), are scheduled to continue from Lowestoft, to and from offshore survey areas at various windfarms and designated windfarm areas off the East Anglian Coastline. These surveys will be at various times over the forthcoming months. Operations are anticipated to be undertaken until mid-2026 with possible extensions into the latter part of the year. The USVs will mobilise from RNSYC basin (Outer Harbour), or Talisman Quay (Inner Harbour), then transit Lowestoft approaches. A support craft will escort the USVs for transits in the Harbour and in the close approaches to the port, monitoring VHF Ch14. XOcean USV - The vessels have a black hull and yellow superstructure. They are small vessels – 4.5m LOA. They are fitted with AIS Class B transmitters, but sit low in the water, so may not be easily detected visually, subject to sea conditions. Typical transit routes to/from Lowestoft are shown. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution in the vicinity of these USV, in areas they are known to be operation, or transit routes to/from survey areas. This notice replaces NTM No.34/2025 which is hereby cancelled. Please contact Lowestoft Port Control, VHF Ch14, Tel. 01502 572286 (Option 3) if further information is required.
6. London Array Wind Farm - Survey Operations - All mariners are advised that the Survey Vessel “Spectrum 1” will be onsite from 23/02/2026 until the end of March 2026 and will be undertaking bathymetric survey within the London Array Offshore Windfarm Boundary consisting of 500m box surveys at various locations through out the windfarm.

7. London Array Wind Farm - Jack Up Operations Ziton Wind Pioneer and Support Tugs Sea Juliett, Wil S and GPS Avenger provided by Ziton, will be on site conducting main component exchange works. The vessels are expected to be onsite from the 17th of March 2026 for a minimum of 34 days, they will remain onsite except for Port Calls as required for vessel stores and equipment.
Jack-up Vessel: Wind Pioneer Jack-Up Vessel Wind Pioneer has a length of 57m, breadth of 28m with a draft of 5.2m. Equipment will be periodically deployed and suspended from the vessel crane during jack up operations.
Tug Sea Juliett has a length of 32.27m with a beam of 9.1m and will be engaged in towing the Jack-up Wind Pioneer to site, then remain on standby at anchor outside London Array offshore Wind farm.
Tug Wil S has a length of 32.27m with a beam of 9.1m and will be engaged in towing the Jack-up Wind Pioneer to site, then remain on standby at anchor outside London Array offshore Wind farm.
Tug: GPS Avenger has a length of 27.02m with a beam of 9.1m and will be engaged in towing the Jack-up Wind Pioneer to site, then remain on standby at anchor outside London Array offshore Wind farm.
A 500m radius restricted zone will be in place, centred on the Wind Pioneer whilst pinned on location. If access is required to this zone for non-project vessel traffic, authorisation must be requested from the vessel master.
