UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices

1. New Editions of ADMIRALTY Charts on 28th March, 2024
Standard National Charts:
Chart 2692 England - East Coast, Sunk Inner Precautionary Area. 1:25,000 - Includes changes to depths from the latest British Government and Port of London Authority surveys.

Small Craft Charts: - Includes full updates for New Edition and Notices to Mariners affecting source charts.

SCC 5607.4 Southern Approaches to Harwich. 1:50,000
SCC 5607.5 Harwich to Orford Ness. 1:50,000

2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Tidal stream. - A new ‘Overfalls’. A new symbol is placed just west of the Newcome Sand port hand buoy: i.e. the overfalls are just outside of the south entrance of the Stanford Channel to Lowestoft.

1. Harwich Shelf – East Cardinal Mark -
on or around 1 March 2024 the following mark will be reinstated in Harwich Haven: Harwich Shelf East Cardinal at 51°56’.84N 001°18’.07E. For further information contact Harwich VTS (VHF 71).
2. Suffolk Yacht Harbour Dredge 2024 - Dredging in the entrance to the Suffolk Yacht Harbour will take place between: - Monday 4th March- Friday 8th March. This work is maintenance dredging to the entrance channel and within the marina. This work is being undertaken by a cutting suction dredger MuddyBoots2 and Plough Tug Edgar. These vessels will always maintain a listening watch on VHF CH68.

Dover are dredging:

Mariners are advised that from the 5th March until the 8th March, The David Church will be dredging in the Outer Marina between the times of 0830 and 1500.

No vessels will be permitted to pass near the dredger without express permission directly from the dredger Master.

All vessels wishing to transit the dredging area are to contact ‘David Church’ on VHF Channel 12 and obtain permission and passing arrangements prior to transit.

RIVER THAMES - HALFWAY REACH - DIVING OPERATIONS - On or around 5th March 2024, marine contractors working on behalf of City of London Corporation will commence diving operations at the upriver end of Hanson No.4 Jetty in Halfway Reach. Diving operations will take place around the times of slack water.
Works are expected to last approximately 3 days. Diving Operations will take place from the Multi-Cat “Emilia D”, and works will include, but not be limited to, lifting operations and installation of grouting lines. Requests for vessels to ‘proceed with caution’ or ‘pass at slow speed’ will be made by London VTS on VHF Ch.14, in accordance with the Port of London Authority’s Port Information Guide, under ‘London VTS’, Section 4. When diving is taking place the dive platform will display International Code Flags ‘Romeo Yankee (RY)’, ‘Alpha (A)’ and a red flag in accordance with Byelaw 33 as appropriate:
