UKHO Permanent/Temporary/Preliminary Notices:
1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Buoyage. -
Substantial movement of three ATON buoys in the outer Wisbech channel (The Wash) reflecting a change in use of channel. Important.
2. ENGLAND - East Coast - Wreck. - What seems to me to be a ‘new’ wreck on the Medway as to others reported in the Local Medway notice, a ‘stranded wreck’ is located in the yacht moorings in Short Reach north of the Chatham Docks.
3. FRANCE - North Coast - Automatic Identification Systems. - AIS is removed from the RCW north cardinal lightbuoy which marked the Calais shipping waiting area. Other Aton still have AIS viz Calais Approaches, RCA, Dyck and Ruytingen. [Wonder why it is removed!]

2. River Medway - Rochester – Tower Reach - Sunken Vessel - Hazard to Navigation - The sunken vessel recently lifted from Esplanade Pier has been successfully lifted and moved. During the lifting operation, a breach was identified in the vessel’s hull. As a result, refloating and towing is no longer a viable option. Contractors are currently assessing the situation to determine the most appropriate next steps. The vessel has been securely positioned at the location shown below; please be advised that it is not visible at high water. 51°23’.475N 000°30’.072E. Image.
3. River Medway – Chatham Reach - Euro Wharf – Diving Operations - diving operations will be taking place at Euro Wharf in Chatham Reach for the removal of the sheet pile wall by means of Oxy Arc burning process and the installation of Cathodic protection and are due to commence 23rd February 2026 with completion expected by 6th March 2026. Diver access and egress will be via man-basket suspended from a shore crane with a second crane being utilised to remove the sections of sheet piling as they are cut off. All vessels passing Euro Wharf are requested to navigate with extreme caution, maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 74 and reduce speed/wash accordingly. Further information may be obtained from Medway VTS on VHF Channel 74, call sign “Medway VTS” or telephone 0151 949 6148 or 0151 949 6650. (Recorded Lines)
