Permanent 4 this week:

1. ENGLAND - East Coast - Southwold SE - Wrecks. - three revised swept depths off Southwold/Dunwich Bank. Very small changes and all in deep stuff;
2. BELGIUM - Zeebrugge - Pontoon. - a new pontoon in the Albert II dok which I presume is still part of the commercial harbour;
3. FRANCE - North Coast - Rade d.Ambleteuse - Restricted areas. - the smallest move of the restricted area for the explosives dumping ground - see the image to spot it - http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page9.html
4. ENGLAND - East Coast - Greater Gabbard Wind Farm - Works. Maritime limit. Buoyage. - A revised P notice regarding the Galloper Wind Farm - it repeats the buoyage which you will all recall was notified in Week 20 last year but it adds that the cable works from Sizewell to the Wind Farm is about to start - new image of the route and some schedule info added from the local web site. It is slightly behind schedule.

Temporary

1. LIMEHOUSE REACH - CONVOYS WHARF - SUNKEN PONTOON - on the 20th July 2017, a PLA Driftwood vessel will position an East Cardinal Mark off the sunken pontoon at Convoys Wharf. The East Cardinal Mark will display a white light with characteristics VQk Fl(3) every 5 seconds;
2. Queenborough Creek Barrier Refurbishment - from the Peel Ports NtM showing a letter from the Environment Agency about the extensive refurb - worth reading - usual page but in the Temporary list. There is a drop in "The drop-in event will take place on Thursday 27 July 2017, between 16:00 and 20:00 at Castle Connections, Railway Terrace, Well Road, Queenborough. Please join us at any point during this session to find out more about the project, particularly as your residency or business falls within the affected area.";
3. East Coast of England - The Wash - Approaches to all Wash ports - Roaring Middle Light Float substituted by Safe watermark can lightbuoy - Reduced intensity light.
4. Port of Wells - dredging;
5. Unlit Beacon – Margate Harbour - the unlit beacon, to the North of the Stone Pier at Margate Harbour on charted position 51˚23.5N 001˚22.77E, has been replaced;
6. MARGATE HARBOUR - a temporary sculpture will be erected on the area known as Fulsam Rock, approximately 80m north from the sea wall adjacent to the Turner Contemporary and Rendezvous. Works are scheduled to take place between the 17th & 28th July.

That's it.

Umm. Thanks. Not sure what is going on. I can see the Week 31 Temporary list but not the primary 2017 permanent page, nor the 'Status' window. And I've just uploaded again.

Back to the drawing board....

Umm, several hours later..... something odd, needed to be uploaded again and again but now all there. Never used to happen until I upgraded to fibre!

Thanks.

I think I really need the hard-wire via ethernet twix router and comfuter (sic). Because I 'upgraded' to fibre (ironic how my personally increase of fibre changed my er you know) I couldn't connect via the standard phone extension cable and the wifi wouldn't reach without a booster 'cos the dry lining of the walls blanket the signal because it is foil lined. So I think the uploading of the website was dropping out. Still it's done.

These are an easy and effective way to extend the network.

Roger, worth trying hardwired network via mains plug adaptors. I've never used them, but have had solid recommendations from others. Example here:

Grateful for the two recommendations but! they won't work 'cos the 'office' is fed from a separate 'board'. Tried quite a while back. Even tried linking upstairs and downstairs on the same 'board'. I assumed that as I have different RCB's (or whatever they are) for the upstairs and downstairs sockets that was why the plug adaptors wouldn't 'mate'.

Somehow I have no desire to go to Margit to survey the vista.

I've used them; they work and are extremely simple to set up. However, they don't seem as fast as the wireless.

There is a potential gotcha if your supply uses different phases for different parts of the building; unlikely in a residential property, but a possibility in commercial or ex-commercial properties. The signal won't pass from one phase to another.

A further potential gotcha is that your neighbour MIGHT be able to get your network connection through his mains sockets using the exact same kit as you!

Bizarrely the house originally had part of the house on triple phase. But the triple phase was stripped out (from the workshop) and the house re-wired. But most of the house had a main board and a part is on a sub-board. My office is in the on the sub-board part (Gladys will recall the 'part' of the house) and obviously isolated sufficiently to stop the adaptors. While having an extension I had been thinking about installing an Ethernet but in a weak moment I dropped the idea. I suppose I could put one externally but I have just tried to get rid of 60 years of BT phone wires outside the house! Further bizarrely, the neighbour's office is no more than 4 metres away from mine yet my router is 16metres away! Hey ho.

By the way, for the senior members, have you thought how much quicker is was to buy a round of drinks from a professional barman using 'CASH' rather than these silly people who use electric tills. And while I am on a related comment, at a very nice 'otel' I waited to get a round of 'rinks'. Before me there was a couple (for they were definitely a couple) who ordered two drinks but when the total was reckoned, they said no, no, we want to 'ping it' (is that the expression) EACH (! not sure I understand the social practice anymore). So the bar person had to deconstruct the bill separately so she need to call the supervisor to show how to do that and then authorise it. Having done that, she said £xx.xx for the first at which point, the lady opened her handbag, took out her purse and her card and pinged her ping. Thank you said bar person who then said to the gent, it's £xx.xx and he got out a wallet and took out a card and pinged his ping. They then waited for a receipt each (I have probably slipped the order of events by now). Er, how come, they could have a card each ready? A card to pay for a drink. Why not one of them pay for both drinks? Why not.. oh can't be bothered. Before long peeps will be using GPS at sea. By the time I could get served I was faintly faint from dehydration - ok I'm exaggerating but SWMBO said she thought I was a little slow!

These devices are very unpopular with the Amateur Radio, and Shortwave Listener Community as they emit, apparently, Radio Frequency Interference, on a variety of Bands, but FM and DAB. as Marine VHF is right in the middle, it may affect any monitoring that happens at home (surely people don't do that, it's illegal)

Since the wifi booster, I notice that there is a lot of crackling on the wireless home phone. I assume that is the Wifi booster? I really need to 'Ethernet'
