Saw 2 or 3 other boats, with nearly all the moorings emptythe Orwell looked particularly grey today despite the sunny spells between the squally bits, still glad to be out on the boat though.

I was supposed to be helping a mate bring his boat up from Brightlingsea to Orwell but the overheat alarm went off. Impeller buggered. Changed impeller. Still no flow. After lots of elimination it seemed to be a blocked heat exchanger ('twas an indirectly cooled engine). In the three hours it took to fail to sort this lot out we saw blinding rain, hail, 30kt gusts of wind.

Ah well...
 
I was going to sail on saturday, but what with the dire forecast and inexperienced crew decided to clear the boat out instead, to find that the weather was perfectly ok and probably no more than a 5 or 6 at most, did anyone experience the forecasted weather?
