Yes, well understood, but I suggest that it is not legal to detain a vessel (unless it has deficiencies / debts) just because the beneficial owner is a national of a pariah state.
There are many British Flag vessels/yachts with Russian beneficial owners, are you suggesting that these should be detained?

If that vessel or its owner is on one of the sanctions lists, yes, it can be arrested/detained. See the Russian cargoship picked up in the channel today.
I suggested nothing in my previous post, but yes, would be quite happy for UK-flagged vessels with sanctioned owners to be arrested.
