Something about RYA recognition being unable to cross the boundary of the Thames.

Cleaning the boats

OOh me and mrs tcm (also northish) got offered jobs to clean boats whilst wandering around Golfe Juan. Mrs tcm went potty. A few weeks later she was offered another job, in a charity shop, paying even less (nothing in fact).

As a northerner who's lived the last 25 years in Poole and Devon, I've found "ladies" thin on the ground. No shortage of "ladettes" though! G&T is no substitute for Robinson's Best Bitter.
