Skips,

Have a look here.. prices etc are top right. Its strange times, but there should be some availability.

Its a great spot, although moorings are only for the season and you have to be out or elsewhere by October 1st. Good pub, sailing club and Chinese chippy, what more do you want?

When it blows SW'ly, it does blow (y)

Don’t forget to tell him about replacement window screens every month.

Captain Faffer, this is Bruce - the fun police ??

Unfair but expected.

Edit. Faffer and I go back at least 2 years before he ever came to YBW. I told him then and my opinion hasnt changed. Im just impressed he can fit one of Greggs finest whole in his mouth and still chew. Maybe.

Explanation required. Rowen Bay is magic for sure. If you are on the boat. This leads to the obvious what when you are off it. Well there is the local youth past time of throwing stones and claiming various err temporary squatter rights. Next. When you are on your boat and off the mooring be ready to chase away any squatting visitor boats just wanting to finish their weekend there's a sport. The holding is exceptionally shit. I'd prefer to say poor but but that would be a gross understatement. The mud has that consistency and everything would be fine if all the visiting boats adhered to 3 ton or whatever lightweight cert the mooring has. I gotta tell you though I have one of the smallest boats at 9 tons and Ive dragged a few of the moorings happily. When you do reclaim your mooring put loads of fenders out. Your neighbour will thank you. You might, if you are lucky have a no claims bonus at the end of the year. At least if you dont claim for stone chips and broken windscreens.

As for PD. Location location location. Without doubt the best location there is. From here you are central. And thats it really. Horribly exposed to the prevailing wind and as you're a riverboat man I would encorage you to invest in a bilge pump that can handle chunks because your bucket shall overfloweth.

Now the partisans will boo at this description and you will take their side because you so badly want to. No matter, we call that gaining experience. The partisans themselves are moving. Go figure.

When we had moorings in the Anglesy area (Red Wharfe Bay, Beaumaris and Conwy) we often picked up moorings at Rowan Bay for lunch etc or to await the tide. It is quite exposed there and not a place I would choose to moor. Conwy on the river is nice but the river runs very fast and can be dangerous in a tender. The little bay between the old Dickie Wall/Boatyuard and Port Penrhyn is surprisingly sheltered and worth considering and sheltered enough to leave the boat overwinter. Where to leave a tender can be an issue with many of the Menaii moorings and needs thinking about. Gallows Point to the pub slip (forget the name) has a place to chain up a tender and does not suffer the feral youths problem but there can be a parking problem there. I am sure you will enjoy it, wherever you end up.

@BruceK

Ah here aswell lol

I like PD, good spot ;) So going with that spot :)

Also there are no longer any moorings in Rowen. They have been no longer laid out due to damage to then etc.
