Ok........ we havent had a meeting, drinking session, BBQ ect this year and the cruising season is rapidly coming to an end,... so.

How are we fixed for a Conwy get together on the river pontoons again. Who is intersted and when ? May I suggest the 17-18th September.

Tom, in need of a little more time on board before the winter work starts :)

Plans are to go to York with nuber two daughter on the 17th so should be able to get down there on the 18th :D
You know me Tom, any excuse to get afloat, even if it is moored on a pontoon!

Mal

It was indeed a grand night in on James "Saskia" (with the broken nose). Philiz came as crew on Sea Rush for a potter down to the bridges & back (well almost back- we were agin the tide & wind & that ain't natural!) under sail this morning.

This afternoon they & James gave the Major a hand to move round from the "Council Estate" to the "Posh Dock" for a bit of o/b fettling. True to his military past, the major is hiding in the cabin.

Sea Rush has retired to her own mooring for a bit of R&R after the battle.

Apparently Searush, you will be indulging in a home made rubarb crumble from the Little Ships land based kitchen :)

Dont drink too much........... nawwww!!! disregard that last statement you will be with Mirrormile ect :)

Tom

We couldn't eat the crumble, we were too stuffed with nibbles and Chilli!
We didn't drink too much.......................................... just enough ;)

I have it on good authority that you can never have too much booze . . .

but I'm not too sure you can't drink too much tho!

BTW the corned dog is all gone now so Jim is safe.

It's just that you swanned off to more Exotic destinations

Yeh Right :p

Ok so we now have

Little Ship
Kilter
Mirrormile
Saskia (with a broken nose) :)

This isnt enough to annoy the Harbour master :(

Where have the rest of us gone............. It' going to be a nice warm and settled weekend honest, I booked it last week with the weather Gods.

Tom

As you know, we have some 'new friends', I'll ask them if they'd like to come along.

Other than that, there's not many more of us now Haydn and Kwackers have given up on us, mind you Kwackers did threaten to make a guest appearance in a RIB.

Anyway, your list has 2 mobos and 2 yotties, we're not supposed to mix you know ;)

Little Ship Old Wooden Mobo
Kilter Old Wooden Rag and Stick
Mirrormile Frozen Snot Mobo
Saskia Frozen Snot with a broken wood nose Rag and Stick

Tom :)

Saskia may be new(ish) build and frozen snot, but she is a topsail gaff cutter with a long keel. She is a design that first saw the light of day 100 years ago, so even older than Sea Rush, Little Ship & Kilter. Even with a broken nose, she is one of the prettiest boats I've seen in a looong time.

And a photo of the old tug if you want it..

Tom,
Hope you don't mind, as I had the camera out taking some pics of the birds, I took a few snaps of you when you were anchored by Puffin Island on Wednesday.

I never get tired of looking at that pretty boat.:) Though she does look like she needs another coat of varnish.

I take it you were in the rib that we came and "parked" by. You should have come across and introduced yourself.

Is your bio up to date, or are you now in North Wales.

The picture shows me tripping over the fender :( I knew I should have left it over the side :)

Taz

Varnish is Ok but she is in need of some paintwork this winter. The Caledonian isnt forgiving when you pass through the locks :) Would you like to come and give a hand :)

I did wonder why you had that stanchion up yer bum.

Taz,
Beware; the Welsh mob are mosty ex-pat scousers. :D

Tom's work parties don't seem to come back for a second helping after rubbing down Little Ship, she ain't so little when you have a sander in your hand I believe. He does have a World famous funbox on board somewhere tho.
