A certain Colonial friend is going into production of a device to stop cabinet raiding.

I have ordered 4 I think it should reduce to amount of raiding parties I have from the North Wales lot.

They will however require maintenance....... yep more varnish :(

You'll need something a little more substancial than that to stop Rambo ;)

Can I have the pieces of wood it's standing on please??

Perhaps Cuchilo could run off a few with the forum burgee tastefully engraved on them ? Can we specify them in lignum vitae ?

(Known in the the trade as "appointments", they were)

Now I know LS is VERY old fashioned, but I don't somehow see her as a square rigger. Just exactly how do you plan to rig the sails that will be supported by halliards wrapped around your belaying pins? How many masts are you planning? Where will the pin rail go?

This is another one of my projects that is getting totally out of hand. I was refurgbishing the mast, just a little paint you know. Then I found the rot at the hinge, the I decided it needed spreaders, then it needed pulleys and halyards. I was going to use cleats on the mast but the angle was to sharp. So what you see in the picvture Tom posted is the belaying pin, there will be 5, and the supporting rail that will be attached to the stainless rail on the flybridge.

Fortunately one of my former tenants left me 45 board feet oif Honduran Mahogony and 600 silicon bronze fasteners if various lengths.

The pins that Tom ordered will made of ironwood, for the general mob and he ordered a special bronze one to repel Kwackers and the Major. What with that new, hidden drinks cabinet, he has a lot to protect. Has anyone found it yet?

All of this to hold a blue burgee with a drunken rat on it.
Maybe Tom will post that picture also.

Pointless.

I was sat in LS on Tuesday within sniffing distance of the main drinks cabinet nursing the cup of tea Tom had made, oh yes, and a small kitkat he fished out of a large tin.

Tom then points into the depths of LS and says the bulk of the drinks are held 'down there'.

Despite a long pause when nothing was said, he made no attempt to go down there and retrieve a bottle or two.

We sat silently nursing our tea.

Eventually I made my excuses and left.

Yes, I think we should take the bonded store to Conarfon, aboard M Farter. It
should be quite safe there, as Mark wont let anyone else in.:)

Listen Bernie, you're not kidding me with all this smoke screen stuff, there's nothing below decks but a big smelly, clam crusher.

We've called in a specialist, he'll be flying in from warmer climes shortly to make a serious attack on the 'real' cabinet, substancial damage is iminent. He goes under the code name Kwackers.

Be afraid Littleship, be very afraid!

I dont have to worry, he is now addicted to ouzo and will get sever cramps if he has to drink anything with an alcohol content of less than 20% or any real taste, if he dose insist on trying I will remind him it's his turn at the bar........ that normally gets him to make his excuses and go home. :)

PS Bernie I need the raiding deterrents ASAP.

I will be turning them this Saturday. I found a nice piece or Iron Wood (Lignum Vita) in my wood stash that will be perfect.

Now then, what bore the for the sleeve fitting, do you prefet; 12, 16, 20 guage shot chambering? It will be a single shot belaying pin so you will have to go for the ring leader first. Then just flip the ends and give the others a good bashing. Lead inlay in the handle is an option also.

Your kit will include the US Navy Union Jack war flag for your fight against these drinks terrorists.
