North / South divide

Bob, who is the Harbour master and pilot at Wells has told me that you can lay alongside the Albatross and stay afloat in 1.6.
I draw 1.8 and as Brigid is an old girl of 62 I dont like her taking the ground on hard sand. Although she would still be well supported in 1.6 so I will more than likely go some time this year.

if you need any info let me know, ill speak to the HM as for a suitable tide hight etc

whats yer draughts? are we going for an average 1.6 meters?I could talk to him about it and try to arrange something,he is all for visitors, gives him more of a lever for getting more money out of the town.Ill be there this weekend.

lifting keels and bilge keels are no problem, ive seen keel boats moored to the albatross and close to it,the mud is not hard for the first couple of feet and he will come out on his launch to guide you in.

I could even take a few of you out on a tide for a visit to the seals,a flat hull and a 50hp has its uses /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I did email him the other week but as yet have received no reply.
Laying alongside the Albatros would be preferable to the quay if only for the lack of having to faff about with lines all the time.
