True, Grid and Magnetic are all the same in certain places in the UK currently!

But surely the relationship between grid north and true north is fixed. They only agree on a north-south line up the centre of the grid, and it seems that this line passes though Swanage and Fraserburgh. Magnetic north can wonder about all it likes but it will only agree with both the other two on the line where they agree with each other.

Absolutely correct.
The grid is centred on 2 degrees West so True N and Grid N always agree along this meridian. magnetic N currently is the same in the Swanage area but is constantly changing. (although not sure if it is by it's own free will!)

There is a human trait that makes us enjoy disorder, and I have to live with the regret that I won't be living long enough to witness the chaos that will ensue when the magnetic poles flip, especially if satellite Armageddon has already occurred.
