No it was from 'Whispering Reeds' at Hickling. 'Marigold' ( the boat not the yard owner) was built is 1906...sailed beautifully !

I think it cost £35 for 3 hours or £45 for 4 hours.

Regards Nick

In the 60s it cost me about £7 10s for a week in a decent three-berther from Herbert Woods. An engine was not usually fitted but would have cost another pound. We pre-ordered the groceries and they were on board when we arrived.

Ah! those were the days! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hunters are a lovely spot to overnight. Spent many a comfortable night there. Free moorings and use of facilities. They refused any engined craft on the premises. (Well they did then) Yes, those were the days!
