God there must be some crap places out there if Slough is only 42nd

The worst places I know near the sea are Cromer, Hastings & Bognor Regis they're all better than Slough though.

I hope Coventry (non boaty) is somewhere is the top five for having possibly the worst city centre in the world (OK I know they’re knocking it down now), a ring road that is just incomprehensible and allowing someone to paint one of the only remaining Tudor houses in the town that didn't get bombed……….pink.

It was fine when it was a sleepy market town, then they built all the overspill housing for bombed out Londoners and the place went to rat manure.
Change is pretty nearly always for the worse.

I nominate Coalville as the most gawd awful place in the Midlands and Blaenafon in S Wales. Believe it or not, the latter has improved over the last 10 yrs. Unfortunately the former's local government has ensured that it has got steadily worse. If you knew what the place was like 20 yrs ago you could hardly credit that this was possible - but it is.
