Noisy power steering pump

Got a rubbing noise coming from my VP D3 and after buying myself a stethoscope found the noise is coming from my power steering pump.
removed it and can't find any play in it at all?

has anyone had any experience of this, would changing the PSF make any difference as its most likely about 10 years old or maybe an additive that anyone has tried to stop the screaming rubbing noise ??

If your power steering pump is making a noise it is either low on fluid or about to pack in, unless it is belt driven in which case the belt is goosed or knackered
I think it is no different to an automotive PS Pump
Unless a more intelligent Forumite comes along

Yes , it could be cavitating. Check fluid level. Check inlet hose is not collapsed on inside as seen this before
